Music that moves you (Slow Dance)...any theme but has to mean something to you...a memory...a feeling...lyrics with meaning

Lincoln’s tomb in Springfield was the normal 6th grade field trip for us. My wife’s side of the family has their roots not too far from Gettysburg. Some of them say the “y” as a short “i” rather than the long “e” sound. (It’s a local thing.)

The Lincoln presidential museum is also amazing. With your love of music, you would enjoy the musical soundtrack to the museum. That’s another thing my family does-we buy the music from the places we visit. Williamsburg, VA has some pretty cool tunes you can buy from their gift shop if you’re in to the fife and drum stuff.

:notes: Lucky at love, well maybe so
There’s still a lot of things you’ll never know
Like why each time the sky begins to snow, you cry :snowflake:

@BeanCounter Thanks for this! I started singing the song just looking at those 3 lines. When I see his poetry just written out, it is such a good reminder of his genius and creativity even without the music.

“It’s never easy and it’s never clear
Who’s to navigate and who’s to steer
And so you flounder, drifting ever near the rocks”

…and a reminder of what we have lost. :disappointed:

I found a connection with Dan Fogelberg  final vocal for Tonight’s The Night was recorded at Caribou Ranch near Nederland, Colorado.

Look what I got in the mail! Now, I just need a record player

@BeanCounter OMGOMGOMGOMG. I had all those albums. Now I have them digitally. I never should have parted with them. But as you said, we’d need a record player to hear them and I don’t have one of those anymore! The artwork on the covers alone is worth the price of admission. What a find!

Gotta love this guy!

That’s what I love about these albums. These are to be shared with my daughter to add sophistication to her little collection.

Also, I’m into physical ownership after learning about customers locked out of their streaming service after a company filed for bankruptcy.

@Wanda3 I remember standing there seeing the name of an uncle who was 6 years older than me. Then just walking down that wall looking at the names of so many who sacrificed their very lives for their country and each of us. And, the weird way I was standing just below a street but hearing nothing. I think of the families who came there to mourn their losses. I also remember it being very lonely in a sea of people. It is a truly amazing place.

@Tom206 Well said! It becomes this surreal, sacred experience. Love and grief all mixed together. It is a sad yet humble experience. You can feel it even as you approach the area. “Being lonely in a sea of people” explains it so well.

I’m just going to drop this here. When you make the Rock Gods rock out, you become a Rock God, no matter how fleeting that moment may be. Sometimes a song transcends the moment. This is one of those times.

I’ve watched this particular video hundreds of times.

Edit: I’m not saying they are actually divine.
