My POV is just that a private conveyance!
If not, everything in that F—kin armored car is mine as well!
Who the f%%k thinks this sh1t up?
We have to start thinking like they do! They need to be DOGED to death!

That’s going to have to reach SCOTUS.

You can bet cash money that it won’t take long for some LEOs to take this ruling to mean that they can search your vehicle without warrant, permission, or probable cause. It’s “public”, right? That effectively means it isn’t private property.

Bad ruling.

Even though the guy was a criminal we should not lose our right to unreasonable search and siezure by declaring our private property as public property. This should go to the supreme court who should overturn it as a 4th Amendment overreach by the Minnesota Government.

You gotta at least shrink the size of the photo, I think I need therapy now!

I find purchasing a new firearm is therapeutic enough :grinning:

SCOTUS has already ruled that vehicles are considered private spaces subject to the 4th amendment. Of course in MN you’re more likely to be killed by a foreign born Muslim “police officer”.

MN responds, “so?” And MN voters have no problem with that.

So by extension, your boat is a public place, even though quite a few people live in their boats? How about an apartment rented in public housing? Where does the insanity end?

Citizens need to wake up!

Definite Supreme Court! If your car is a public place then anyone in the “Public” can get in it anytime they want! Keep your doors locked!

Not all Minnesotans agree nor voted for this kind of crap.

The Minnesota Supreme Court is 100% democrats and law means nothing to them. They make it up.

Plus the politics of this state are dominated by liberal, progressives in the Twin City metro area. Most of Minnesota outside of the metro is Red. So many of us did not vote for this stupidity, nor did we vote for Ilhan Omar but we’re stuck with both.

While the Republicans in this state are not always the answer to the stupidity of our laws or the problems in this state, you can count on the democrats being the cause of those problems.

I never carry a loaded long gun in my vehicle just because of the fact it has a a more likely chance of going off accidentally taking it in and out of the vehicle.

What is truly disheartening is that this ruling stemmed from the possession of a B.B. Gun, which is not unlawful in the State of Minnesota. Of which the subject was charged with Misdemeanor possession of a Firearm without a permit, yet a B.B. Gun is not categorized by Minnesota State or Federal law as a firearm. However, using some liberal mental gymnastics, the issue has developed into deeming the interior of a vehicle a “Public Space” that is under the control of the State Government when on public freeways and highways. What is worse, is that the provision seems to be aimed at the possession of rifles and shotguns in a vehicle and there was never a rifle or shotgun involved in the originating traffic stop and offence.

I am pretty sure that this provision will eventually be struck down, yet in the meantime I feel sorry for the Duck and Deer hunters in Minnesota that are just trying to engage in their lawful activity. Have your hunting license, tags and stamps at the ready when the unlawful searches begin, as this will be a field day for law enforcement to generate charges. Keep them unloaded and locked up with the ammunition separate and locked up when transporting, otherwise there are additional charges. I am wondering,… now that vehicles are deemed public space, will there be no probable cause needed to initiate a traffic stop, or will it be just the whim of the officer/trooper based on “Reasons”? Such as the bumper stickers on your vehicle, the type of vehicle you’re driving or that certain individuals do not “Look Right” (You know where I’m going with that) and an inquiry needs to be made.

Time will tell on this one. Be safe, everyone,… especially our brothers’ and sisters’ in Minnesota.

I had no idea there were any jurisdictions in the US where a BB gun was classified as a firearm. I looked up a few definitions of firearm, and in every case it involves launching the projectile through the use of an ignited gunpowder charge. Even California, in their legal definition of “firearm” specifically states using a burning powder for the charge.

This whole scene in MN is insane.

It’s not classified as a firearm in Minnesota, it’s just included on the list of items that are prohibited from carrying in public.
