Militias

And facts…

Under current federal law, 10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes the militia is defined as
(a)
The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in [section 313 of title 32], under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are—

(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

Under current misinformation and media propaganda, militia is defined as white supremist, knuckle dragging Nazis who play GI Joe in the mountains on weekends, and who are anti-American, anti-Semite red necks. They are virtually all infiltrated by informants, or undercover federal law enforcement.

The true militia is neither the National Guard, nor the knuckleheads in pickup trucks. Read Federalist 29, in the Federalist Papers by Alexander Hamilton for the founder’s intent.

You make good points Alexander. While my writing early in the mornings may not be as well-written as those I would type in the middle of the day, there are a couple ideas that I suspect have validity.
The first would be that none of the public vocal figures would be militia leaders. I believe that those rise up when the need for a resistance appears. Without that leader, no militia actually forms. One cannot typically say whose voice will become the official one.
It is easy to become emotionally tired and situationally depressed. It is happening all over the U.S. right now. All this brought to us courtesy of those who are attempting to revise our government into a socialist utopia. For me, that is the reality I see.
I spent way to many years defending other countries against the tyranny that we-the-people supposedly voted to have now. I don’t believe the majority voted for it, but it is happening as I type.

Keep in mind the Army dropped the “…of One” campaign. Light Foot units I’m aware of strive for unity across a wide range of participants.

Virginia has one. It comes under one of the US codes. But it is under control of the Govenor. It is formal and armed only under the approval of the Govenor. They have performed many thousands of hours of Community service. It is connected to VaNG but then again it is separate. Quite a few states have them. Look up VaDF.

There are various other sites for citation. Just tap in the key words with the co-joining name.
There were several events where these commies spoke open & liberally about their intentions.
I blame the alphabet soul sandwich agencies for letting them thrive out there.
Learning time already began against fools like them, next is wall to wall counseling for attempting to infringe on freedoms

I’d never re-up. Especially with “Biden…” & the current Congress. Absolutely not. Denied.
If I do anything it’ll be to defend freedom from the outside.
No red tape regulations for constraints or reasoning.

Nobody really talks about it anymore, but there was a mass exodus from the military after Klinton got elected POTUS. Congress declared the “peace dividend” and waived bonus money for taking a RIF or early retirement, Klinton declared “DADT,” and anybody with a security clearance and a well worn Bible started getting harassed and negative paper added to their security folders. So we took the hint and got the Hell out.

I don’t know how people continue to serve under horrible leadership. There is no integrity in that.

I think it is a matter of degree. Most if not all of us have been working in places we started out proud of only to see them start to slip. but just when we have had about enough it gets better and we stay a little longer. After a while you understand where the tipping point is and start planning on a move. I have seen it in the corporate world and the government world. The attitude flared up under Obama as well. You could see it when he went to visit military bases. There was no joy. At the time I had an increase of E-6 and E-7s coming into government agencies, School districts, County Maintenance, State construction. The key was the men that left had confidence in themselves that they could survive somewhere else. Too many are frozen in the idea that they have to put up with it because there is no where to go . It isn’t true but it is fear holding them back.

It is much like the tone of this thread. People are afraid to align themselves with like minded people that might organize to defend themselves and their friends simply because someone they don’t even care about deride the idea of a militia, or at least the word.

Sure this is an opinion and generalization but I had a few years of counseling with men in women in transition and that seemed to be the idea I got.

I am not saying we have to organize for a revolution. I am saying there is a possibility something like Portland, Seattle, Tacoma,LA, DC or Chicago. (My Niece and her family will no go into Portland after dark.) Today it looks like our politicians will have all the protection they need. But our families will be left to fend for themselves if the same groups that have overrun those cities come to ours. I would like to know who was on my six rather that wait till the fertilizer hits the air conditioner to see what my neighbor is made of. That is just me however. Your results may differ.

I of course was not able to read each and every post in this conversation, so forgive me if I rehash a point. I did see reference to the Supreme Court and militias, and this is where I chime in.
I believe in the Heller decision there were many well researched definitions and explanations laid out as a part of and a foundation for their findings. Very important is the explanation of the construction of the sentences of the second amendment both in the language of today and especially of the time of the drafting.
It was found, and all footnotes for research are given, that the statement “A well organized militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” was to mean BECAUSE a well organized militia IS necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The decision also well defined, with great explanation and much research, the grammar and wording of the phrases. “Militia” was well defined as well as “keep” and “bear” and “arms.”
The Heller decision must be considered when discussing these issues as it is the Supreme Court’s duty to define and explain the Constitution of the United States of America.
Now that this explanation and decision has been made to clarify the intent and meaning of the second amendment, it can be used to help quell disinformation and actions by the other two branches of our government.
There is much more to the Heller decision, and in my opinion, we should each read it carefully.
Does the decision fix all our second amendment problems? Definitely not, but we need to be informed of the final word on what this amendment means to us and to applied law (and enforcement). I’m certain our on-board attorneys are keen on this, but each of us should understand in order to be able to speak with one correct voice.
