My company nearly went under. Most of it was shut down for 6 months, with no incoming revenue. Pay was cut in half, for 3 years for those of us that kept our jobs. Pay is still below 2019 levels. It’s a small industry, and nowhere for any of us to go for better pay, all the companies are in the same condition. Inflation ate what was left. We had to live off our retirement investments. I had no ability to lower fixed expenses. I and everyone I know in my industry are in the same boat, and it’s a lot bigger boat than people are talking about.
It wasn’t a case of panicking in the markets, it was a perfect storm of drastic and long term income cuts, massive inflation, and all during peak expense period with kids in college, mortgage and child support payments, etc, that can’t be changed. I’m glad the markets have done great, and I hope you have, but there are a lot of people I know personally who have not and never will really recover as we head into what were supposed to be retirement years.

Please understand Blood Brother it was ALL THAT you mentioned for sure but it was the ‘Planned’ destruction of this country by Foreign and Domestic INFLUENCES that lead the charge. The Shut down was just a vehicle for the Enemy to keep us distracted. No Fauci No Covid, No shutdowns, anti-social distancing, blah blah blah to get Pudding Pants (the filthy kenyan’s third term in the big chair was all that mattered. Millions died but that was part of the plan (depopulation of us useless eaters)
