Mantis X3

So, I won a Mantis X3 and I’m still navigating how to use it, having only used it twice thus far. My question right now is how accurate is it, in your experience, with the troubleshooting recommendations, i.e., slapping trigger, pushing forward, etc? Can it really detect those issues? One of my instructors isn’t so sure because he doesn’t feel that I am slapping the trigger, and the Mantis seems to think I am. As always, all constructive input is heartily appreciated.

I don’t have one (saving for an X10 Elite), but from all the reviews I’ve watched they seem fairly accurate for newer shooters, but can misdiagnose issues that an instructor might be able to detect.

So, I guess it depends. I would probably suggest asking the instructor what they think the issue is if it’s not a trigger slap, because if they don’t have a suggestion about what’s happening then I’m not sure why they’re saying what you’re NOT doing wrong.

Since I’m using it with a new weapon, I think I am probably slapping the trigger moreso than with a gun to which I am accustomed. Going to work on dry firing before hitting the range next week. Certainly can’t hurt. Thank you!

FYI, this particular instructor thinks I’m over tightening my grip in anticipation of recoil. Probably doing that, too, as I’m still learning.

I’ve used Mantis for a few years now. In the beginning it helped my shot, overtime not as much. I’ve noticed my live fire shot is better/more consistent then recorded with mantis. I have noticed that some of the recommendations helped, other didn’t.
Overall, I’m glad I use it, it’s a training option at home for dry fire training.
