Oregon has never been considered right leaning, it’s always been a Libertarian state which drives right leaning states crazy, they hate that Oregon has always been liberal towards gays, religion and marijuana. Where we are running into issues today is the anti-forearm sentiment that has spread within the state. Oregon historically was very firearm friendly however those days are coming to an end as more Liberals move to the state and want to bring their rules here.
So what you are saying is you want Religion in your Government, ok, so I won’t help you when Islam becomes the dominate religion in the US. Good luck with that, you bake your imaginary friend into your Government, don’t cry when others use your work against you.
Not exactly what you want me to say? We have a representative form of Government where we elect those who represent us. If the majority of Oregonians want a California form of Government there is not much I can do. What is your solution?
Nowadays. Its much bigger than the antifirearm faction. You guys have a problem. I thought MI was bad. I used to be more libertarian leaning but i seen how it progressed and no more.
Sucks for you guys cuz Oregon is a beautiful state run by lunacy and progressives.
Same as Washington, another beautiful state with good people but progressives took over.
Northern California, your just screwed cuz your attached to southern California.
Cant have it both ways nowadays. Either conservative or progressive. Politics changed, no middle of the road anymore.
If I want to live under a Theocracy I will move to Iran or Israel. In the US our constitution was written so that there is no dominate religion nor should there ever be. You make children in Public School read from the Bible today, they will be reading from the Koran tomorrow and those flood gates were opened by the Christo-Fascists who think they know best.
There is no middle of the road anymore because Conservatives and Liberals have flipped flopped so many times the middle can’t keep track. In the 80s Conservatives were all for open borders, Bush and Reagan both ran on amnesty for illegals, while Democrats cried about the loss of US Jobs. Today Republicans want to deport all the people they let into the country while Democrats cry about the loss of Labor.
That would be nice but im only 52 and dont plan on it in my life time. Both sides push it so hard now to counter punch the other. I will add that you dont see my side burning down cities…just saying.
Nowadays it either or, no in between. You can claim to be moderate and thats cool but you eventually gotta choose which side.
Im sure some local elections, moderates can win but im talking nationally.
Too bad it’s not about what one is not doing. It is about what one is doing. MAGA
I try to be on the right leaning/optomistic side. That can be on either side of the isle.
The US Constitution does not mention God, but the Declaration of Independence does. The Constitution’s First Amendment protects religious freedom through the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause. Many state constitutions, however, do include references to God or the divine.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
US Constitution: The Constitution does not mention God or any specific deity.
First Amendment: This amendment includes the Establishment Clause, which prevents the government from establishing a state religion, and the Free Exercise Clause, which protects individuals’ right to practice their religion.
Declaration of Independence: This document makes several references to God or a Creator.
State Constitutions: Nearly all state constitutions reference God or the divine.
Other Mentions: God is mentioned in the Pledge of Allegiance (“one nation under God”) and on U.S. currency (“In God We Trust”).
They are inextricably intertwined, and I couldn’t care less
G-d comes in many flavors, three prominent when dealing with the G-d of Abraham however when you start dealing with Christian sects and subsects, Jewish sects and subsects, Islamic sects and subsects this flavor quickly divides into a vast variations of this G-d. When sky-daddy decides to come down and expose himself to the rest of us, I will follow him no questions asked. Till then, no I am not going to listen to you tell me what you believe sky-daddy wants me to do.
Never agreed with amnesty, never will. Go through the BS system and earn it. Folks complain about the flawed system ( myself included,) get on your congress critters and actually work together, ie: do their job, and fix it.
Whole system is broke due to DC and this country what we have now is the result
Oh but you want me to listen and believe you. Oh well I’m out of here This is why I try to stay away from Politics, Religion people have their own beliefs and believe they are correct.
Declaration of Independence, recognizes a creator.
G-d was added tot he Pledge of Allegiance in 1954. The Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Socialist Minister in 1892. Just remember every time you recite the pledge, you are keeping Socialism alive, state first, people second.
In G-d we Trust was added to Paper Currency in 1957, prior to that it was used on US coins however it was selectively used. Funny part about this is it goes back to Roman times where an Emperor was put onto a coin and they would declare them G-d, Son of G-d or G-d like. This was used as a method of conditioning a populace to not question their Government because how could one, when it was appointed by G-d.
