I’m sorry to learn of the passing of your brother. It looks like our good folks here have presented some workable options for you.
@Paul157 Welcome to the community! Great options given by the friends in the community, stay safe!
Congrats on your escape from the People’s Republic.
I’ve heard but not confirmed that you can contact your local law enforcement agency for temporary firearms storage. I’m not sure on the specifics of retrieving it afterwards, whether or not you’ll need to run a background check, but it’s worth a try. Check with your local Sheriff if you’re in the county and with your local PD if you’re within city limits.
Once you find out if that is indeed the case, I’d appreciate an update if you wouldn’t mind. Good luck.
Thank you ill check it out
Thank you
WHAT? Did you really just say that?
all information and suggestions are appreciated. I’ll follow up on this, however I don’t trust law enforement to return my item…lol
I have carried my firearm into my bank many times and have made the bank manger aware I was armed the bank manager had no problem with it. I am sure if you bring it in in a lock box and make the manager aware of it there shouldn’t be a problem.
“Oh, by the way…” and poof! Bye bye, gun. lol
If you don’t mind, are you headed to a pro-2A county?
I think RAMBO tried this back in the day (an M-60 wasn’t it?) ![]()
No, i don’t believe so, im headed to Orange County, CA, my understanding is that most of California is anti 2A
Orange County is one of the exceptions with Sheriff Barnes. Still, you’re just next to the shytehole that is LA County. ![]()
I hope everything goes well for you at your brother’s memorial and for your family over the next several months. California is now a shall issue state and provides non-resident permits. The non-resident permit only works in California and has no reciprocity with any other state. I offer this to you should you need to make return trips to California due to family considerations. You apply online to the Sheriff’s Office website of the county you will most likely travel to. This and more information can be found in the last printed USCCA Concealed Carry magazine. Hope this helps. Michael 2378
Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for this information. It will be very helpful for my situation.
Best regards,
Paul
