If I have my EDC which is always, & I have to enter a place that doesnāt allow guns, I have a simple lock box with a cable that secures to the seat mount. I lock my pistol in it & shove it all under the seat. Iām know that someone can cut the cable etcā¦ but itās a good deterrent. Cost about $20. Beats the hell out of just hiding it in the car

Know why you donāt see The Club anti car theft device anymore? Because crooks figured out that they can use a hacksaw on the steering wheel close to it, slide the club off the wheel and be gone in under 10 seconds.
I know you said you have it locked to a seat mount but only saying as my dad would say: all a lock does is keep an honest man honest. Iām not saying donāt use since itās obviously better than nothing.

I already said that the cable can be cut with a pair of cable cutters. Are you suggesting that a cable lock box is no better that just putting my pistol under the seat?

It IS better than just leaving the gun under the seat!
Just not by much in my opinion.
Which is why I encourage something like ConsoleVault if itās available for your particular model!
Something that at least bolts internally to the floorboard, making it immobile without taking part of the car with it!

I donāt think that that is what he meant at all. Just that there are more secure ways. Itās still better than nothing. But there would be no way of stopping a determined thief. He (or she) could just take the whole car.
It will slow the thief down. And not every thug carries cable cutters around with them.
This looks like my lock box that I have in my vehicle.
And I still used a āClubā on my Jeep. As a deterrent, and to slow them down. Soft top Jeep is easy to get into.

Iāve been shot at (with a firearm) exactly two times in my lifetime.
Once was my buddy who decided to put a bunch of .22LR through the trees above me while I was taking a piss. Jackass forgot I had a 9mm on my side. (We are both lucky to be alive)
The other time was out 4x4ing on public land and some jackhole posted up on the opposite side of the valley and was taking pop shots at the passing rigs!
He actually hit a jeep, though thankfully nobody in it was hurt.
The sheriff did catch him later, but I donāt know anything beyond the fact he was caught.
TLDR;
Unless youāre expecting to be shot at, just my opinion, armor is not necessary.
He did say Chicago.

It is to be used more so for concealment for my sister driving to and from work

And just going out in the evening. Walking some dogs, animals, pets that you have. Just a normal everyday civilian

Yes, DJT can steer the overall heading of the country from the seat of the presidency, but that seat does not give him governorship of Chicago.
He can steer the general gist of the country towards freedom, but if your local politician chooses to undermine that direction it comes down to the people to vote them out and help steer this great country back to freedom!
