I followed you for an hour today.
Oh did you? I have been at home all day working on recipes!
you
Hope it was good⦠I like good food!
He was in his car outside with his mouth drooling and you didnāt offer him anything.
See! @William191 was driving, I was in the pax seat.
Just saw a video on motorcycle safety using Jeff Cooperās threat color coding. Very applicable!
I definitely slide around the scales. In public I try to always be around mid yellow though in sketchy areas I drift towards orange and go full orange when I identify a potential threat. But Iām not perfect. When focusing on tasks that require some heavy thought, focus or action I can sometimes be pulled down to light yellow or even white for a few moments. Like when I am trying to find a small screw that fell in the grass or my son asks me questions like what is infinity -1š.
If I know I am about to do something that will likely draw my focus away from my surroundings, like send a longish text while in a parking lot, I try to do a more thorough scan of the area first. Then I try to take frequent breaks from the task to do additional checks.
At home in my low crime town with the doors locked I would say I am usually still near the border of white and yellow most of the time. I am not actively looking for threats but my subconscious tends to pick up on out of the ordinary sights and sounds and bring them immediately to my attention. This even happens when Iām watching a really good movie or even sleeping.
At home I too am relaxed I think thats a standard for pretty much everyone. I can at a moments notice be in orange or red, example last night we had a power outage and my daughter stepped outside since it was cooler. She came back in and said she heard someone in our driveway. I immediately grabbed my gun and a flashlight and entered the orange zone!
Code yellow - Observation
Where are you?
What is your escape route?
Where is your destination?
How many people in an area?
How are they dressed?
What is their facial expression?
Are they happy? or mad?
Are they paying attention to what is going on around them?
Where are they going?
Who are they with?
Is anyone following you?
Are you sure?
What time of day is it?
Should you be there?
The more information details you can gather in a minute may give you the time to react properly if you get an orange level. Flight or fight
Wouldnāt this be difficult where you live where it rains 364 out of 365 day?
When they are wet and have branches in their hair you can assume they are homeless. If they have an umbrella and nice shoes they are probably from California. If they have a rain jacket, shorts, and sandals with socks then you are from Seattle. If you are dressed like a hipster than you are probably from Seattle. If you are a guy wearing a white dress with flowers and a unicorn purse than you are probably from Seattle. If you are in Seattle and you are laying asleep on the sidewalk then you are from Seattle. If you know how to pronounce, (Puyallup) than you are from Washington.
ROTFLā¦OMG you nailed it. I donāt know how many times I saw that walking in to work.
It took me a week to learn how to say that!
