Is this a joke?
What, the act, or Illinois?
Sadly @Karacal itâs no joke. Kinda funny name for it considering it does nothing but help the sh!tbags. Some friends of my wife and I were just discussing this the other day, glad we live in north central Illinois and not north of interstate 80. We have already seen the sh!t roll down hill here from the cities thoughđĄ itâs scary where we are heading!
This was a lame duck session held in the wee hours of the morning in a few hours the Illinois general assembly managed to go through almost 800 pagesâŠ
Many people of Illinois, Illinois Sheriffâs Association, Illinois Fraternal Order Of Police, County Boards, Sheriffâs and Police Chiefâs and many other mayors of non democratic towns and cities opposed this bill. Governor Pritkzer said it would make communityâs safer!
This must be what drinking Lake Michigan water does to a person.
recycled sewage

If any consolation, PA is circling the same drain with their gubernatorial candidate (D), cities like LA, San Fran, Memphis are also following through. Its the ânew normalâ
âAdditionally, beginning January 1ST, 2023, judges will no longer be allowed to consider the personâs threat to the community. Serial domestic abusers, sex offenders, and residential burglars will be set free, without judges being allowed to consider public safety generally, UNLESS the prosecution can prove âby clear and convincing evidenceâ that the accused poses âa real and present threatâ to a specific person AND no condition can mitigate the threat,â the statement noted.
I find this aspect of the law even more troubling! Apparently according to this language in the law, a person cannot be detained if they are simply a threat to kill random people. They can only be detained if they are a threat to kill a specific person. So potential mass murderers are free to walk the streets??? What could go wrong?
A bill passed, Iâm sure, by the same people who insist on disarming law abiding citizens.
Why arrest anyone if youâre just going to let them out? Think of the $ they could save by getting rid of all of the cops, sheriffs, judges, court staff, lawyers, etc.
Letâs oil the already, slippery slope!
Devils Advocate:
In the United States you get arrested by the police and accused of a crime. They take you to jail and based on guide lines or maybe a ruling from the bench you can either get out on your own recognizance or post a bond. This allows you to stay out of jail until trial and CONVICTION. Letâs not forget, we, as American Citizens, are considered innocent until Proven Guilty.
You might want to read the story, first.
Iâm all for innocent until proven guilty and not detaining people who are not a clear and imminent threat to do additional harm. But this bill would potentially allow people like the Memphis live stream murderer back on the street since he wasnât targeting specific people and in a case like this it would certainly take more the 90 days to bring the case to trial. It was a similar set the criminal free policy that allowed him to be on the street to commit these crimes in the first place. He was let out after only 11 months in jail after being charged with two counts of attempted 1st degree murder!
Actively allowing clearly violent repeat criminals to roam the streets should be considered a criminal act by these clueless lawmakers and prosecutors.
My little burg spans I 80. We have pro 2A City & County LEO.
What does the T stand for Thugs? Because the only thing this does is protect criminals.
Both.
If people donât wake up and remove these clowns from office they will be very sorry.
Yes, criminal communities.
Also Devilâs Advocate: maybe Ds need to free up prison space in preparation for something.
True "CRAZINESS ".
Pritzker is an âequityâ governor. He, his family and cronies will not stop pushing their DEI legislation until us law-abiding Illinois residents are the slaves of his socialist puppeteers.
