He who turns the other cheek will get hit with the other fist

This is a cynical post but a legitimate one. I’m all for forgiveness but when a life is taken I think there should be some justice. How much depends on one’s loss. I would think when you lose a son to a violent act, maybe just maybe some punishment is warranted. Unless you want to turn the other cheek.

IIRC the BOOK says send em to meet the BOSS…

He was on school property with a weapon?

Justice should be as rash as his actions. Without conscience or mercy.

I see forgiveness as letting go of the bad feelings in one’s heart. Because someone forgives someone does not mean justic shouldn’t prevail. The way I see it.

We see differently. He took something which was not his to take.

Not his school either. “Visiting”, probably to attend the track meet.

Sorry, I am going to vent here a bit. I have a grandson who will be attending that school and I am not happy with the wisdom of anyone going armed to a track meet.

This is just me jumping on the topic through replying to @Karacal. My comments are NOT meant to impugn @Karacal… or the “stabber” for that matter. I am simply venting my frustration over this sad story. I feel for the family’s loss.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Maybe he was defending himself, maybe he was looking for something to defend himself against.

As a responsible armed citizen, I’m not looking for a fight.

I can’t say that this kid was trying to avoid anything.

“…The incident happened as the young athletes were gathered for a track meet at Kuykendall Stadium when the suspect was apparently sitting under another team’s tent and was told to move, ”
If he stabbed him over this he will do it for less.

“Touch me and see what happens.” Moments later, authorities alleged that, “Austin grabbed Anthony to tell him to move and Anthony pulled out… a black knife and stabbed Austin once in the chest.”

Stand your ground, it’s not.

ok so anthony was sitting where he should not have been and would not move well then get a leo or someone in charge to deal with him. austin was wrong to grab anthony. anthony cant claim fear of a deadly threat.

That depends if he was murdering somebody or defending himself we don’t know that yet.

So where is that line for you?

This certainly looks like a case of someone wanting to cause harm, then putting themselves into a position where they can act on that desire.

I carry my gun every day, and when I don’t have my gun I have a knife….

However, I avoid situations where I might need either!

This kid didn’t, he inserted himself into it.

Look at the bright side. Most of the donation money will most likely go to the lawyer that ultimately loses the “self defense” case.
Stabbed in the heart. That’s personal.
Gotta believe there were plenty of witnesses.

It is either that or he put himself in a position where he wasn’t going to back down anymore from a bully.. I wasn’t there so I can’t make a judgment and I won’t make a judgment based on a newspaper article.
Not a decision I would make but these kids probably don’t know any better.
Probably a good reason to have self-defense training in schools. You do bring up a good point and is something that needs to be addressed.

He’s not going to be a good member of the USCCA.

Sometimes one has no choice and can’t back down. If the bully is going to murder you or cause you grave bodily harm.Whether or not that was the case, I don’t know.

When he said, “touch me and see what happens,” that’s the perfect opportunity to back down.
Now, he’s accused of a crime.

Sometimes people let their emotions control them. I am not saying we shouldn’t have emotions. We need to learn how to control them or they will control us.

Numerous people, including me, reported this findraiser to GoFundMe because it violates the terms of service. The account now appears to be removed.
