Man armed with a kitchen knife climbs a ladder, breaks into apartment from balcony with knife in hand. This one brings back memories of the castle siege days when they use boiling oil as a weapon. Short of that it wouldn’t take long before one would have to make a quick decision. Based on the determination of the bad guy I’d have concerns for the future if he survived a self defense encounter. Just my two cents.
I don’t know if you could have legally pushed him off the ladder — don’t understand the language and don’t know if he was making threats at that point, but I have a feeling he was. When he pulled out the knife he exhibited his means of deadly force, and when he broke the glass door and forced his way inside he exhibited his motive to do something illegal. He obviously had the opportunity. At that point, yes, defending yourself and family would be justified, at least in my opinion.
Flash a knife at me and I’m drawing my weapon. Then I’m saying: if you wish to live, leave now.
That brings up an interesting point. Do silver tipped bullets do more or less damage to the intended recipient?
First, at the top of the ladder, It’s a repeated Jab Cross Hook to the head and face. Then as soon as the window breaks, it’s a gun in his face. As soon as he steps inside I’m going to get really serious about defending R.
That’s what it comes down to, defending your loved ones. No matter what their weapon of choice is
Bang.He ain’t collecting for the Red Cross either.
Trick or treat for UNICEF!
Remember the Fuller Brush Man or the Kirby Guy…?
When he pulled out the knife
The first time I watched it I didn’t see him pull out the knife until after he was standing on the balcony. This time I saw him put it in his back pocket while climbing. Yes, I agree, push him off the ladder as soon as the knife comes into view.
By the way, does anyone know how this incident ended?
Remember not to trip over the Crime Scene tape.
My parents had a Kirby, and yep, they bought it from the Kirby guy. It was a good vacuum. Built like an Abraham’s Tank. And it only weighed about 180 lbs
Kind of giving him an option: “You can leave and have a bad day or stay and have a last one.”
A simple baseball bat would have saved the day.
12 gauge 00 buckshot to the face for the scumbag…
Public service announcement for those concerned with vampire and werwolf threats. Winchester Silver Tip bullets are not made out of silver:)
I remember a cop telling my mom to shoot an intruder, while “it’s” still on the front porch, and drag “it” inside right away - does anybody get my connotation of “it” in this post? This is the level we’ve been reduced to.
I didn’t notice the knife the first watch through either until after he got on the balcony given the small video image. I suspect I would have seen it if I was there in person. Not noticing a weapon makes pushing him off the ladder a little more legally ambiguous I would think? But in this case it sounds like a known person with obvious violent intentions so not sure how that would have played into the legalities wherever this incident took place. They could be in one of those crazy countries that make it illegal to defend yourself so all he may have been able to do is ask the home invader nicely to not hurt them.
I don’t have a balcony but if I did and noticed someone climbing up I would probably retreat the second I saw the ladder being placed and lock the door like this guy did but I would be going for my firearm so I could defend my family if they did try to break in. Pushing them off the ladder might be the best bet if you are unarmed and thought they were unarmed but they could use the knife to slash at your arm or even pull out an unseen firearm and shoot before you can reach them.
