@JamesR - Thanks for explaining. That makes pretty good sense now that I think about it. You might not want to light up the room and let someone know you are up and about, so these lights sound like a good option.
@Zee Have you tested this yourself? Unlock With Paperclip Unlock With Paperclip
Doesn’t look like the Jotto Gear is particularly secure at all.
I am about to purchase the Rhino Metals Longhorn nightstand safe. I know there are about to be some comments saying it’s waaaaay too expensive for just a nightstand safe but when you’re spending the money on a safe that doubles as a nightstand that’s a piece of furniture that will last absolutely forever if taken care of, I think the money is worth it.
I’ve been really happy with this one, and it doesn’t break the bank (it says $119 but I bought their $90 model without the biometric scanner). It has two keys (if batteries ever die), the quick access code, a key fob and a card (I did not program the fob or card but I like the option). I keep it on my nightstand. It holds a 9mm Shield and a 40 S&W full size gun.
My wife and I have a 4 and 3 year old, so I am being cautious with access. We have talked with them and even let them touch the gun hoping to stave off some of the curiosity but kids will be kids so they will remain locked. I bought a Fort Knox Pistol Vault for my nightstand. I’ve practiced and I can get into quickly enough. We also have cameras that have motion alerts to help alert us, especially at night.
@TexasEskimo. Good placement. Everything important at hand. Just add a cold drink and a moon pie.
Oh my goodness… i havent seen or had a moon pie in 30 years…now i gotta find one😟
