There hsa been a booklet sent out to first responders here in Florida by FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) titled “Florida Quarantine Response Legal Reference Kit”. Of particular note is this section I copied. I suspect this was enacted/included due to the circumstances that happened during the Katrina / New Orleans seizure of guns and they are going on record to insure legal gun owners have the means to defend themselves and their families. Makes me feel a little better.
“However, nothing contained in ss. 252.31-252.90 shall be construed to authorize the seizure, taking, or confiscation of firearms that are lawfully possessed, unless a person is engaged in the commission of a criminal act”.
There are a lot of other issues detailed out in this 12 page booklet so I will continue to review the fine print in other areaas as well.
