Fighting Close? Step In! | Into the Fray - USCCA

Most gunfights happen at very close range. When fighting in close, it often pays to step toward your attacker. Yes, it may seem odd, but think about it. In an Extreme Close Quarters (ECQ) fight, you will likely be using your off hand to defend from an attack. But you also have to make sure you don’t shoot yourself as you try to fend off your attack, get your gun into the action and make good hits.
