DESIGNATING FENTANYL AS A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
You have heard all the stuff Fox News says about this drug; here are a couple of things you might not be aware of.
Pharmaceutical fentanyl is commonly and safely used during surgery as an anesthetic and powerful pain reliever. It is typically used as one component in a balanced combination of medications.
Fentanyl’s role is to block pain signals in the brain and help the other anesthetic agents work more effectively, allowing for lower doses of other powerful drugs and promoting stable vital signs during the operation.
I truly hope they take the time to get its classification correct. Not like what they did to marijuana. Schedule one drug. Doing stuff like this means people had to wait years before they could use it in trials and testing. They have only recently allowed testing with LSD. A lot of vets say it helped them with PTSD. The times lost to stupid laws for clickbait—that lost time could have saved some vets’ lives. I am aware they used the word “illicit” I am not sure that is enough.
There is a lack of large, randomized controlled trials specifically for LSD-assisted therapy in PTSD. Research into psychedelics in general was effectively shut down for over 50 years, and much of the current renewed research has prioritized MDMA.
Research into using LSD for PTSD is limited but shows emerging potential, primarily through small-scale studies and clinical observations in private practice.
Makes you just want to run out and sign up for a trial, doesn’t it?

I am not big on taking any kind of drugs. I will stick with meditation and EMDR. Ever since I was cured of Hepatitis C it is unbelievable how much better life is. I keep getting in better and better physical shape and life keeps getting better and better.
While I don’t disagree with the points made by General_Consensus and Papa_Zed, I can also appreciate the byzantine labyrinth of laws, rules, and jurisdictions which can tie the hands of an administration. By designating fentanyl a “weapon of mass destruction” it may expand or transfer operational jurisdiction –and the scope of those operations– to other departments who may actually do something.
I’m not saying that this is a good way to conduct business, just that I can understand the utility of it. I see it as a pretty good indicator that “government” has become to big, too bloated, and to divided into fiefdoms of control to be effective in the way it was meant to be.

Everything Trump wants to do, he has to pick something scary, some scary enemy to get the retards all fired up. Fentanyl, immigrants, etc. Any only an idiot would think a President can control the price of groceries. Well, let me rephrase, a President can’t make them magically go down, but he sure can f’ things up and increase prices. We see that.
No argument here, but the same may be said of many of the illegally used drugs in circulation.
I think it was Socrates who said “ Abuse is never a just argument against proper use.” The principle applies across the board–drugs, alcohol, firearms, vehicles, flamethrowers, etc.. The trick is to combat illicit/illegal use without interfering with proper use.
This is what really disturbs me when it comes to the government. They modify the laws to correspond with what they want. Both sides are equally culpable in this endeavor. While we and that of our children pay the price for their actions.
Venezuela does not ship Fentanyl, they ship cocaine. This administration has consistently used the Fentanyl crisis in the US to tie it to Venezuela which is absolutely untrue. Mexico is where Fentanyl is produced and shipped from. Furthermore Venezuela produces and ships just a fraction of the Cocaine sent to the United States compared to the amount Columbia ships. This admin is lying on the reason they want to go to war with Venezuela, but hey when has the Government ever been honest on why they send our soldiers to go die on foreign beaches, just seem these beaches have a lot in common, Oil.
