Well, as cute of a meme that was the actual date the 1911 was adopted by the US Army was March 28, 1911. This is a cool read.

The meme is about the patent. JMB applied for a patent on Feb 17, 1910. It was issued Feb 14, 1911. Then the army adopted it. And the rest, as they say, is history.
