MY optometrist is a firearm owner. I know this as I mentioned, years ago, one of my issues related to sights on a handgun that as I am older are not as crisp as they were when I was younger. He stated his father was a retired LEO, and that he also owned firearms. Being that he is only a few years younger than me, he could relate to my issues. He suggested mono-vision contacts, where you only wear one contact for distance (as that is my issue). That worked great, with the exception that my dominant eye is my left eye and I predominantly shoot lefty. Off-hand, sights were clear and target was clear, so if I shoot off-hand wearing contacts everything is crisp and clear. Good thing I am ambidextrous.
