Sounds like they Both need more range time. Finding all of those bullets must have been fun.
I thought the bad guy is supposed to run away because he doesnt want to get shot. The whole Caliber-Doesnt-Matter line of thought is dependent on it.
It sounds like we don’t know who shot how many of the 20 shots. Considering the robber had the drop on him, I think he did pretty good to hit him with at least 2 shots, and doesn’t sound like any bystanders (if any) were injured 
It’s just sad that the home owner had to go through this, been nice if he had a SIG full automatic 9mm and a 30 round magazine.
I’m a little late to this too, but aside from training for target acquisition, it does hint to the need of carrying an extra mag for those of us in 10 round mag states, like CA. Ugh.
