Constitutional Carry Laws Reduce Murders?

Nice!

Gotta think permitless carry increases both general and specific deterrence as well as increasing the unknowable stat of crimes prevented with nothing to report, so this makes sense…

I just saw where a new Nebraska CC law just went into effect. What’s that make it, 27 states?

Half the country is becoming safer and more sane while the other half punishes good people and lets criminals rule the streets.

And, in any case, my right to carry a concealed weapon has a statistically significant rate of reducing the likelihood that I or my wife will be murdered, so that’s a statistic that really matters to ME!

And it also does not increase the likelihood of your murdering another person. I have carried knives my entire life and have yet to harm anyone with them; similarly with the time I have been “allowed” to carry a handgun, no extra holes put in anyone.

Exactly. In fact, since I’ve been carrying, I’m much more likely to quickly leave an area where a confrontation might be building, just because I don’t want to be put in a position of having to draw my weapon. Truly, the last thing I ever want is to need to use it.

I don’t need a study to prove what is clearly a common sense fact. The peace that comes from carrying a firearm and knowing how to use it is all the proof I need.

So true. It is a really reassured feeling. Along with meaningful training and practice of course.

I like your P365 avatar too, I might add. Big fan.

Statistically, Years of Data, Multiple studies with Different findings. We’ve seen it before.
Here’s my take, Constitutional Carry or Right to carry even FOID and licenses to carry laws work and reduce the murder rate at the second the firearm eliminates the threat. That’s the stat nobody seems to want to recognize.
