Conceal Carry Magazine July Issue

Interesting article on page 74 regarding the use of a body cam. Should armed citizens have them? Opinions and discussion.

My concern with this is if it catches on then we’ll all be like some police forces, “Required” to have them. Not to mention that its presence would seem to rat you out that you’re carrying. Adios the idea of concealed carry. Not to mention that once the libs get ahold of this, God help us when they start writing the laws and regulations, let alone cost(s) that may become involved.

I agree with you @Robert1025 it could go either way. It can hurt you and it can exonerate you.

Did one of our partners once post a software in these forums in the form of a poll/survey? I thought one fellah did It. Thought it was kinda interesting as it was easy to use. If he sees this string and would post one, I’d be curios what folks think. I’m in the process of reinstalling a dash cam in my lil put put. LOL.

Recently a couple of drivers cut me off and almost hit my front fender corner this summer, on the expressway, yikes.

I’d rather not document every moment of my life. I would rather defend it if ever the need arises. There are some topics in the magazine that are there to provoke discussion and not quite within the realm of reason to the average self defender. If however you are a higher risk individual, courrieur,sp., diamond broker or international spy your needs may vary.

IMHO

I didn’t need a dash cam until I did.

Bought a cheap one from Peking Amazon for $20, installed one Sunday morning and six hours later after church, got into an accident. I sent screenshots to local PD and I never heard from them again.

I won’t go into detail but in my case, no news was good news.

I’m considering a body cam for motorcycle riding. After reading the article, it’s going to be for concealed carry too.

Probably not. Just get a friend with a drone to fly high cover whenever you go out.

If you thought firearms were heavily regulated, you should look into the actual FAA regulations around drone use. I suggest studying for the Part 107 sUAS license, there is a lot more to it and a lot more restrictions and requirements than a lot of drone buyers realize and enforcement will definitely pick up as they become more popular

I have run dash cameras for almost 15 years at this point. I personally recommend a dash camera as a requirement.

The difference with a bodycamera is, well, the dash camera with a mic off doesn’t have to record anything inside the vehicle so it doesn’t record other people when you converse with them and doesn’t record sensitive info or photos or logins on your phone etc, a body camera opens up a lot more sensitive info concerns than a dash camera

I suppose if you did a body camera with no audio that would help but here is the bottom line…people are generally comfortable with the idea of a dash camera in a public space but not generally comfortable with the idea of a random person standing in front of them/behind them recording them
