Civil War; Comments about the movie

Sometimes gaffes are seriously funny! (Except when you’re JRB, and they happen all the time…)

But at least it presented the opportunity to lay out what conservatism is and isn’t.

“our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

There it is - that’s what we should really be aiming at.

For me it is. I am not about politics. I am about the sanctity of life. I take every issue as a separate issues aside from politics. Being Jewish and being human makes people who want death, want to murder me. People who want to murder in my mind want to die. I feel it is my responsibility to stop them by removing that will before they can murder or the world would cease to exist. Everything else is about power and money, I see on a lesser value/importance.

Who Me?

I’m just a Disabled Grunt ready for one more Fight.
I’m no Politician (Thank God)
But, I’ve been around some VERY SMART Stars (Military Men) who knew this
could blow up in our faces at any moment.
‘Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely!’
Power like this is a DRUG! Worse than Heroin.

But Thanks for the complement…I Think?
I don’t know if that’s a Complement or an Insult
Eisenhower was a Soldier first and foremost
Trumps NOT a Politician, He’s a PATRIOT.
(and he deeply LOVES this Country)
I’d give what’s left of my life in support of him turning this Dumpster Fire of a Country around.

Thanks for sharing - spot on!

The passage I shared is from the New Testament and addresses the real origins of evil, which is the spiritual realms.

Nehemiah (Old Testament), when he was rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, clearly saw opposition to his work as a spiritual battle. He responded with prayer and with spears.

The opposition:

Nehemiah 4:7-10 NIV

“[7] … the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. [8] They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. [9] But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.”

The armaments:

“ Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.” (Nehemiah 4:13)

Spiritual battles in the heavenly realms sometimes translate into battles on earth. Sometimes we call that war.

Praise God. I think we are on the same page.
I don’t think of myself as a religious person. I think of myself as human more than Jewish. As a human I am spiritual. I didn’t know you were referring to the Bible not that it make a difference to me. I am speaking from my heart and what makes sense to me, if we are to survive as humans.

Yup, we are. There are some things that are just flat out basic and common to all decent people.

It’s fragile because there’s a lunatic in the Oval Office!
It’s fragile because there’s another waiting in the wings and she can’t put two sentences together. It’s fragile because we have wannabe jihadists ruling our colleges, trying to replace the AMERICAN flag and our AMERICAN youth!
We have a moron that literally sold off all our resources! Hesitation and indecisiveness gets people killed, he’s accomplished this in spades.
The southern “border”, Chinese spy balloons, gave Putin the nod to take Ukraine ( arsonist/firefighter ), paid Iran to wipe Israel off the map!
It’s not “fragile” it’s F#@KED :exclamation:Pardon my eloquence. I don’t know French.

I wonder what makes you and so many people see it like that. I see it as we have a lunatic in the Oval Office because we have a fragile democracy.

Le F#@KED?
Tre F#@KED?

Oh, Never mind!
All Excellent points Brother

Really Robert? I didn’t want you to loose your dinner all at once, so I’m only showing the short version…

If I’m right there’s a 3.8 year version, don’t think we have time for that!

I’m a realist enough to know I don’t have much value as a firebrand, nor as a warrior (my definition of a warrior may be different than yours). I’m not talking revolution or war in the streets. I pray that never happens as it will not be a conflict with defined sides. It won’t be Texas, California and Florida against the rest (like in the movie). It will be neighbor against neighbor. It will be a hellscape that our enemies will profit from.

I have to hope that rational voices will be heard. That we are dragged back from the precipice upon which we are perched.

Have not seen “Civil War” yet. Can it be compared to the Kevin Sorbo film “The Reliant”
Here in the Chicago area there’s been lawlessness, chaos, social unrest and just goofy demonstrations not seen since the late 60’s or 2020-2021. “The Reliant” deals with this scenario on a local level that does not seem farfetched ( ref: Kyle Rittenhouse) in light of recent events, past history and approaching political conventions?

I saw the movie. There’s one take I wish those on the left would come to grips with, this movie represented an insurrection, anything less is merely a protest. Jan. 6 wasn’t even a protest. Remember that the George Floyd “protests” buildings burned, people died, and according to the left it was “peaceful “.

Was finishing my reading for news. I read both sides of the aisle for news and figure the truth is somewhere in the middle.

But does this sound like The Leader for the Minority (the Democratic Party Minority Leader) is reaching out a hand of conciliation or someone who is trying to stir things up with the opposition. By fishing in troubled waters.
