“The recent decision by China to halt the export of two critical components —nitrocellulose and antimony— has raised alarms within the U.S. ammunition manufacturing industry and among defense experts. These materials are indispensable in the production of propellant powder and primers, and their restriction threatens to create significant supply chain disruptions. As geopolitical tensions rise and global conflicts, like the war in Ukraine, drive up demand for ammunition, the U.S. faces an uncertain future in maintaining adequate ammunition supplies for both military and civilian markets.”
INFORMATION is the key to our survival. If we don’t have Ammo our Boomsticks are clubs.
I ordered ammo this weekend and found the same thing. Items that had been in my cart for a while all had notices attached with significant price increases (like 20% or more). I ended up reducing my order to fit my budget.
Honestly, I’m doing way more dry fire practice and drills, and less range time than in the past, to conserve. I don’t want my skills to get rusty, but I want as much ammo on hand as I can afford and store. For live fire I’m practicing more with .22LR and less other calibers. I even looked at a .22LR BCG/magazine conversion kit at the LGS this past weekend but it was a little too much for my wallet right now.
I’m sorry Brother, I have a .22 AR I could sell ya but you Prolly could get one right away local and take her home same day (prolly a better price too as I’m ridikulusly 'spensive! I haveta make up for the ‘Boating Accident Loses!’ 'Nuther trip planned next month! October fest on the Lake? What could go wrong?
Keep yours, brother! You never know when you or your sister might need it (assuming you can find it on the bottom of the lake)
I have a nice .22LR semi auto that my wife has declared is her SHTF gun, while I man the 5.56. The kit to convert to a .22LR was about $200, but then I got thinking the sights would be all off, and what’s the point? Just shoot the regular .22 rifle for practice. Of course, that was all before my tragic boating accident myself. I noted the spot on my GPS right before she went down, so maybe I can dive on the wreck if things go south
I know Bruce is going to be over in Bora Bora digging through the mud
I have enough Ammo! (What stop laughing!)
All I need is a coupla Mags and Pray the migrants

I’ll take it off their corpses.
UM, I wasn’t kidding.
I survived battles by stripping the dead
You can’t carry (100) full mags, you just can’t.
I went through (480) rounds in one battle (that’s 16 mags)
You have to scrounge
Pick the nicest AR/AK’s, Sidearms and their mag’s take their Grenades whatever
If they have better Body armor, Helmets, NVG’s, sunglasses strip 'em of it.
THIS ISN’T A JOKE.
The Ammo I have @ home must last till it’s all over
There will be no resupply anytime soon,
If they have Comm’s take them, Know your enemies plans
Even if you don’t Hablo you can glean info if the signal gets stronger
they are getting close.
Take their food! Even sh!tty food/water is better than none.
STRIP 'em bare!
Leave nothing for his buddies to take back.
Buy as many components as possible and be prepared to reload. Bullets, brass, primers and powder are still available. Get a simple reloader and hang tight. Don’t wait till it’s too late. When shooting competitions not a single round I fired was factory. None of our hunting ammo was factory. When shooting trap during the ammo crisis all my ammo was reloaded. All I’m saying is be well rounded. Stock ammo, but give yourself the option to take advantage of other options. As for China, any country as advanced as ours, that cannot deal with their “embargo”, the leadership needs to FIRED, tar and feathered, and those put those in charge that can get with the program! We can build Nukes and we can’t make gunpowder….give me a freaking break! Heads need to roll, and I’m not talking figuratively.
