I think there may be a huge shift in the next election away from such radicalism.
I don’t live in Chicago and couldn’t care less but it does have an effect on us downstaters.

Be interesting to see what happens in Chicago if there was a GoFund me to support ALL officers to stop working for a few weeks. No PD. Let us see how the Chicago community respond to “defund police”. Always feel bad for the PD, officer and officer families that are involved in a shooting of an officer.

NYC had an epidemic of the “Blue Flu” many years ago. If it was not for the suffering that would result from the already suffering residents of Chicago and other cities, I wouldn’t blame the police if they had an outbreak of this malady.

The mayor just had to inject the trite trope of “gun violence.” And she then insulted gun dealers, as if they regularly contribute to crimes and criminal behavior. Those same gun dealers sell guns to LEOs, police departments, and other government agencies. That mayor is beyond stupid to be making such ridiculous statements when LEOs and the chief of police are right next to her.

Chicago has been a mess since at least the '20s when the Mafia had control of everything. And they didn’t go away, they just went into politics… The problem with Chicago is that the whole election process is totally controlled by the democrats and if the votes don’t go their way they change them.
As for BLM and the Dems, they are both so left-wing socialist that they really don’t see Chicago as a problem.

People in the southernmost counties are probably closer to the Carolinas than to Chicago, but Chicago affects them. If Oregon counties succeed in seceding and annexing to Idaho, there’s Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri to consider…
