I have a friend that was trying to get his CCW in Florida and had a misdemeanor that had been purged many years ago. He had to get a letter from the state with the dismeanor and then provide that for his CCW permit application.
You may be falling victim to the recent gun control enthusiasm of the Governor’s Office in the wake of the recent Nashville, TN. shooting.

Sorry I haven’t been in touch. I spoke with a couple of attorneys and their best advice was to comply and turn in my CCWL. I know they’re right from a practical point of view, but it bothers me - and saddens me as well.
For the first time in many years, I want to fight, but cooler heads have convinced me that the best thing to do is play the fascist state’s game but play it better than they do.
So now the fight starts with the courts. It’s going to be expensive and time consuming and I’ve certainly got better things to do.
Mike BKY from this site is good if you ever need legal help.
