Personally, I like the idea. It teaches kids not only gun safety which is beyond important but also that the police are not “The Bad Guys.”
There was someplace else that did this years ago after the first school shootings. If I remember correctly they taught safety and gun handling just in case the child/student could happen to get a gun in their hands during one of these events without being scared to even look at a gun.
Agree 100 percent @Randall318 and coming from LE I am very pleased about this. This should have been going on for years and other departments should have been involved. Good for community relations.
50 years ago this was normal! Having a rifle in the back window of the Chevy truck was normal, kids respected firearms!
