CA moves to outlaw USCCA & NRA Shooting Insurance

Yes, Tim talked about it in the June 7th Concealed Carry Report:

Ah yes. Now that you post that article I remember seeing it briefly. I was going to read it when I got the chance, but when I was no longer busy it slipped my mind to go back to the article. Thank you.

Wow. So there is a state worse than CA. Plenty of pistols in CA the government doesnā€™t know about and they are legal to possess. If they were bought prior to the Dealer Report of Sale System going into effect. That includes a lot of revolvers. No permit required to have them in your residence or place of business.

NJ requires you to have a ā€œfirearms purchasers ID cardā€ to even possess, buy, transport or use a firearm in NJ. On top of a permit for each handgun.

Iā€™m sure each and every street hood in Newark has their Firearm Purchasers Card. Sometimes being law abiding makes me feel like a sucker. I donā€™t know whyā€¦

Letā€™s not forget that hollow points are illegal to possess. I will not even have that round if I had to travel through NJ.

Thatā€™s because being able to defend yourself is not what the state wants. They want you to completely depend on the policeā€¦ which will arrive well after the bad guy has hurt/killed you lol

Washington State and New York have already done this. I have been a life member of USCCA for years and I had to join one of the other lawyer groups due to this.

These attempts are so disingenuous itā€™s sickening.

For most of the last 10-15 years until two years ago these are the same people that were demanding mandatory liability insurance for gun owners supposedly to ā€œprotect the publicā€.

In reality it was a push to simply make the cost of firearms ownership too high for most people to afford and thus theyā€™d eventually give up their guns.

Well, people in the marketplace discovered there was a real need for liability and legal coverage and the NRA answered. Soon after the USCCA, US Lawshield and others all got into the market providing not just the coverages we need but also firearms/SD training but legal seminars and other services to produce the best educated and trained gun owning populace weā€™ve seen in a hundred years since firearms ownership rates began to wane with the concentration of populations in the cities and the slow exodous from the rural parts of the country by people seeking opportunity.

Apparently they donā€™t understand the NRA either. These bills are specifically designed to defund the NRA in an attempt to break our organization financially when in reality the NRA only gets a very small percentage of the payments, the rest goes to the underwriter.

All this boils down to is another attack on gun owners and their rights.

If not for the NRA our gun rights would have long ago gone the way of the DoDo. They are the most powerful gun rights lobbying organization that has ever existed and our political enemies know that to further the elimination of the 2nd Amendment and our rights the NRA must cease to exist or be so intimidated and financially devastated having to fight all of these suits they will eventually cave in and start making concessions to those who wish to disarm us and strip us of not just our gun rights, but our self defense rights as well.

As long as ā€œThe Peopleā€ have the means to resist oppression they will not submit to absolute govā€™t control, this is why in every country where dictatorial rule has eventually come to pass they have had to first disarm the population or immediately after taking power do so.

Well put. CA is a one party state. They have a supermajority in the legislature. They control all the major and coastal population centers. They do what their socialist/sanctuary hearts desire and say sue us. They have been and are malevolent.

Yes I saw this coming awhile back and think I mentioned it

Yet another reason you couldnā€™t pay me to live in that state.

This is an example of why I got the Hell out of California over 30 years ago.
We are all responsible for our own Security. Insurance like this protects me from the insanity of California Law Makers when it comes to Firearms, and how Self defense is outlawed in California. A Shooting for Self and Family safety can land you in Prison. Iā€™m proud to be a Member of both the USCCA and the NRA. By the way The Governor and Politicians in New York have said they want to ā€œput the NRA out of business.ā€ God help us.

@bulldog @Dawn This is insane and if NJ ever got an idea from this I would have to speak up.

The reason for this insurance is not to skip being held accountable but to be able to afford a lawyer while WE ARE being held accountable. It is NOT ā€˜Murder Insuranceā€™ but instead ā€˜Self-Defense Liability Insuranceā€™.

I wish that these politicians would get their heads screwed on right and stop trying to take away our Second Amendment Freedoms!
