Here’s a fast and easy way to be sure. Pick out an object about 10 feet or more away. With BOTH EYES OPEN bring up your dominant hand and point your index finger toward the object and keep it there.Then just alternate opening and closing each eye separately while looking at the object.Your dominant eye will see your finger pointing directly at the object, and the non dominant eye will see your finger pointing to the side of the object. Easy, peasy.

Off hand eye dominance

I know this has been talked about but I’m gonna get more specific to my issue. I’m left handed, left eye dominant however I’ve been shooting right handed since the first time I shot a gun. I’ve passed all qual shoots and training. After reading the threads here and some reputable youtube videos I grabbed a rifle and pistol went outside and ran some dry drills. Yes, but no. Depends on the distance and the shooter. A further shot will require more accuracy which usually means closing one eye. A close shot requires less accuracy and both eyes open is good for that. or depending on the distance.
