He did not look to have a weapon and was not aggressive, I’m going to say she overreacted.

I’ll be waiting to see if a ā€˜hate crime’ suddenly appears for this one. IF we ever hear the outcome.

Parking spot dispute?
These are never self defense actions…just bad ego and stupidity.

If it was in fact a parking spot dispute… what a waste of two lives. He lost his and she’ll likely lose hers.
It will be interesting to follow the outcome of this one as ā€œself-defenseā€ is getting to be like ā€œcrying wolfā€.

NY Post reports

A Florida woman fatally shot 62-year-old retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Bart DiGuglielmo on June 30, 2026, during a verbal dispute over a parking spot outside a Walmart Supercenter in North Lauderdale, Florida.

The woman was not arrested because she remained at the scene, cooperated with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and invoked Florida’s ā€œStand Your Groundā€ law, claiming she shot in self-defense New York Post. No charges have been filed as of July 2, 2026, pending a review of the case by the State Attorney’s Office New York Post.

FWIW The video shows her emerge from her Tesla gun in hand, before any physical threats. If a prosecutor argues her intent to kill over a parking spot, as a juror I would buy it.

And I saw him advance on her despite her visibly holding a gun, then pointing it at him. Lunatic, he threw his life out.

Watching videos from Tesla parked next to the incident… I doubt she will be charged with anything in Florida…
This guy kept walking after her around cars, even she had a pointed gun at him all the time. :person_facepalming:

Jury selection is key :face_with_monocle:

I don’t think there will be any jury selection… case closed before it even started. But, we will see…
There was a similar incident on parking lot in Chicago area few years ago… no charges pressed.

You just do not chase a person pointing gun on you…

My Opinion? STOOPID SHOOT----PERIOD.

Instead of who was RIGHT? we can see from the video BOTH WERE WRONG. In one way or another INSTEAD OF WALKING AWAY (either of them ) they both continued the engagement til someone got dead. No, we don’t know what was said (actually we can figure it out but words and ACTIONS proved to be a fatal combination).

EGO IS NOT YER AMIGO FRENZ! Let it go, walk away ('specially if someone’s already drawn down on you sh!t can only escalate).
Nobody TALK’S anymore----- you are NOT ALLOWED to breath another’s air it seems, we’ve lost all sense of compassion and understanding of others. Shoot first ask questions later.

*This is why I am ARMED, a simple trip to Wally-World is NOT going to be my last ride. It USE to be In-Convenience stores were the daily hazard, then outside @ the pumps, NOW? it’s Parking spaces, Crossing a Bridge, Street takeovers, Protests and anything else these TRAITOR’S try to foist on us to keep us all in fear, Panic, Scared, Depressed and Angry. Terrific. Have a great day America

Dont know enough. What was said before? If he threatened her verbally as he was approaching or before, good shoot.

And why does the press always mention when some is a veteran? As if that somehow matters to the story. Maybe in this case it means he should have known better than to mess with someone pointing a gun at him.

I agree Don both people are wrong in this case but he doesn’t belong dead over it. Her lawyer would have to convince me she was in danger, from what iseen in the video BAD SHOOT DUMB AS$ with a gun.

Yep. :+1:t4: Why draw a gun over a parking spot?

My CCW mantra: ā€œSticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.ā€

And TA DA! That’s the entire point of this pointless Death. Whatever this was about (and we may never truly know) NOBODY DESERVED TO DIE OVER IT!. On this I lean heavily that if someone was pointing a gun @ me (and I’m unarmed) I would NOT under any circumstances walk, jog, saunter, threaten, argue, belittle, disparage the Lunatic pointing a gun @ me! I get the phuck outta Dodge as fast as I possibly can. TAXI! I don’t care what it was about COOLER HEADS DIDN’T PREVAIL.

…and THAT is what scares me.

She started the conversation with a gun in her hand? He continued to close on her, multiple times?

But she wasn’t harmed in any way before this. The man went into the store and she waited in her car, with her gun, for him to come out. How would that be self defense ?

I have questions too, not fully convinced it’s a clear case of self defense.

you don’t have to wait until you are harmed. Just a reasonable fear of imminent harm or unlawful force.
