Any EDC Bibles?

I had a Gideon Bible in my hotel room in
Kenya on a mission trip. Man was I amazed at where those Gideon’s get to!

I just got a CSB gospel harmony and have been reading through it. I really enjoy it.

If anyone needs a Gideon New Testament, I can get you one. My church has several of them lying around for the taking. I’d be happy to ship it to you at my cost.

I like the CSB translation. I probably have one since the days I was proofreading freelance.

LOL here too. Got one myself, reminds me to “be good”.

I’ve been to churches where they claim that the KJV is the only version and that anything else is a perversion. News flash, Jesus did not speak the kings English.

This is a good one.

May the LORD guide you in your search. The Holy Spirit uses the Word to teach us true doctrine, to reprove us, to correct us, to instruct us in how to live rightly (in a God-honoring way) so that we will accomplish what the LORD wants (Micah 6:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and Ephesians 2:10).

We used to carry a small one, that was issued to us, when I was in the military. I really liked that little bible.

Not a weird question actually. The time is coming where they will try to ban the Word of God.

There can’t be civil liberties in the New World Order.

The idea of PROPER civil liberties comes from the Bible.

I would say the Gideon Bible is probably the closest thing to an EDC Bible you can carry.

Having an online app, is NOT a good option because although it is convenient, it IS on the internet and the internet was created by CERN. This is the same CERN organization that has a HUGE hadron collider which smashes subatomic particles together in order to create portals and because of that, they’ve discovered dark matter.

Anyway, this means that at some point, the words online can be altered to fit the New World Order agenda. Google, Amazon, and all these tech corporations are highly anti-Christ and have started motions to either ban or alter the Bible online especially for certain agendas like that of the LGBT. Social media is like a Hive Mind. You either go along with what everyone else thinks or get criticized online. They literally have “click” farms and paid Internet trolls who get paid to support a certain narrative against conservatism in large numbers. Try posting something against the LGBT online or saying you support Trump’s monicker of Making America Great Again and watch the Hive Mind go to work against you.

I love the online apps but having a physical copy is wise because now that A.I. is practically everywhere online, we need to be a bit more careful with our online interactions.

A.I. is not what you guys think it is. This A.I. can be dangerous and do things to make it appear as if someone else is doing it even though that person isn’t real so eventually, they will need to authenticate everyone around the world, and guess how they’re going to do that?

With the Mark of the Beast.

That’s why on some websites, you have to verify if you’re human or real. Also just simply typing in a password isn’t good enough anymore sometimes. You have to use biometrics, face scan, or use something like a Google authentication app just to log in on certain websites.

So yes that’s a good question. A Gideon Bible or something of similar size might work.

Searching for field Bibles online also gives good results.

There ARE EDC Bibles out there and it would be wise to purchase a physical copy or if you have a regular sized Bible, just buy a preservation container for that Bible.

I recently spoke to a missionary regarding this matter. He’s collecting bibles of all flavors, old and new—except the obviously perverted versions I won’t name—and bring them with him to his trips. There’s NIV (which was used by a youth pastor to introduce me to the biblical Jesus), NASB, KJB, ESV, etc.
My personal preference is the NKJV for the same reasons as mentioned by @CWrigley91.
I have two of the same color for my wife, a NASB when we were attending a church using it as their official version, and a NKJV I bought her when we moved to another congregation.
In the end, what matters to me is the faithfulness and diligence of the preacher.

Everywhere I’ve had Bible teaching from church to Christian K-12 education to a Christian college education has been taught using the KJV. However, they weren’t KJV only which is a ludicrous teaching that states or strongly implies that the KJV itself was inspired. They will actually translate the KJV back into Greek and Hebrew and then make translations into foreign languages using that Greek and Hebrew text. Absurd.

My church uses the KJV. However, my pastor uses other versions in his personal reading, studying and sermon preparation. I’ve read through the Bible in KJV, NASB, and ESV. I find a slightly different version often helps me see things differently.

I don’t start with it but I find JB Phillips useful for reference purposes.

I use that on one of my online Bible programs. I use e-Sword primarily because it’s free and easy to use. I also use Logos (the free version). They give away a free book every month (and goer choice not yours) so you can build a free library over time.

Wow…

Y’all seriously carry that book around with you?

I made my first post in jest, CCW/bible. (Cut out to accept a gun)

Why do you need to have that book on your person?

You didn’t read it and learn it’s message?

I have read and re read many parts. I have not read all of it. I do participate in studies. I currently use apps with the NIV translation, even if my KJV is in the car. I definitely don’t have it memorized.

Will, to give you a serious answer, yes, lots of people do read and re-read the Bible many times over throughout life. It’s a big, and complex book, written by a lot of different people over many years. Every single time I read parts of the Bible, I get something new or different. It’s almost impossible to stop learning it, and I’ve never made any attempt to memorize it, nor do I consider myself the slightest bit educated or well read on it. I read and learned my high school physics book 40 years ago, but never read it again and probably remember 5% of what I read back then. I’ve known guys who carry a copy of the US Constitution with them, or a prayer card, even if they know the prayer by heart.

With the world and the country going off the deep end, and “truth” being revised around us on a daily basis, something unchanging, good and understandable like the Bible can be the one foundation that keeps some people going on. I can read the news and become frustrated, depressed, angry and worse. I can read the Bible and be reminded of universal truths, like loving others as I love myself and the ten commandments. I don’t care what faith or non faith anyone is, the basic life foundations of loving and treating others with fairness and respect, truthfulness, care, and compassion are what we all need, and it’s good to remind ourselves of that on a regular basis.

I guess my real question was;

How many times do you need a moral reference sheet?

Seriously, you see a pretty woman and need to flip through your book to understand that coveting thy neighbors wife is bad?

Something makes you angry,…. Good thing you have your book telling you no to kill people!….

I get it, god is good, allah akbar, blessed be, whatever!

It just seems like a fairly simple message.

Don’t be a dick!
