Imho, totally justified application of brandishing. That was easily 5 on one, and even a single lucky punch can prove fatal…
Why was he out front in the middle of that crowd to begin with?
The fact that he didn’t produce the gun until after the attack began was risky, but at that point clearly self defense. (Prosecutors will say he incited the attack)
Being California, he will probably be charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, have his 2A rights stripped and his storefront looted.

Is it just me or did the mob look more like the Portland or Seattle variant than Oakland? 
I want to say I admire the guy for being a gun owner in a highly liberal city but at the same time question his actions in the incident.
