I have run into a bunch of people who grew up around firearms and have never had any lessons from a āqualifiedā, in the formal sense, instructor. Some of them think they know it all and are scary as heck but others are incredibly safe and responsible firearm owners.
There are many ways to learn, train and be responsible. Though having at least some formal training from an experienced instructor is a good way to verify that you arenāt suffering from a severe case of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

True. That is what I aim for. But I have seen too many people who only shoot once a year to qualify that really need to step up their game.

That ANGENT was in shape Have You Seen some of the Law enforcement officers have let them selfs go . This man was in shape and in all fairness he could have had one of them edc . That fire all by themselves . Just saying before I joined the USCCA I had all kinds of . That going on . And in less than a week it stopped and has never never happened ever ever again Bobby Jean

Despite what many people believe, a lot of police officers are not gun people. Many of them are extremely lacking of training. Thatās why I sometimes cringe when I hear people say we need more police officers in our schools. The truth is, we simply need more properly trained defenders in our schools.

William 377. I used to be reckless with my firearms and I truly did not see anything wrong with it nor did anyone one else and everyone was from law enforcement from all over . And they were different 30, years ago and even more free at the out doors range!!! But when I joined the USCCA I had all ready been . Around firearms SENCE I was seven 
years old I had my own 22. Rifle. And straight knives.!!! My daddy just said if he was not there never touch . And he meant that.!!! And when we went shooting he AWAYS said donāt fire if anyone is in front of you . And keep your fingers off the trigger. And donāt shoot the birds or any thing else that is alive for fun. And my AZZ !!! Got A very very GRATE LESSON FOR THAT ONE RIGHT THERE .!!! But at the outside range you can get around and have some fun that a range master would 
a make ya leave if you do somethingās that you can at the outside ranges . I love outdoor ranges !! And rolling on the ground and jumping and climbing the rope and shooting upside down on your way down tucking and rolling and jumping climbing and having fun love Bobby Jean

I would still call it negligence. 
Accidental discharge is due to mechanical failure or equipment malfunctionā¦ and, man, I doubt that was the case

Equipment failure will produce permanent failure to extract.
