Don’t touch my gun.
My verbiage can be improved, for sure, but I think we are on the same page. If you need to clean it –clean it, if you got to train with it –train with it. Some people cannot stop fidgeting with the controls though, the rule is for them.
Very true, “playing” with a firearm - in any state - is stupid. One needs to learn to properly, safely, handle a firearm, and as you stated, the best way is to not handle it, except only when necessary. It is easy to learn bad habits, unlearning them is much more difficult.
Nobody touches my pistols without me saying OK & personally clearing it before they put their dick skinners on it. lol
If you are carrying, you should ALWAYS know the status of your gun
Five rules?
There are ten.
Where have you guys been? ![]()
As Mr Miagi from The Karate Kid said
Rule #2 learn rule #1 or in this case all the previous 5 or 6.
Never carry a weapon that isn’t 99.99% reliable.
And then carry a backup, 'cause stuff happens.

. RULE # 5 >> IS KNOWING RULE # 1 <<
@Richard152 >> GUN ![]()
I guess it would mean what you mean by “gun” LOL
@Richard152 >> can’t help it. It’s stuck in my brain pain with a lot of other memories for good, at least we came laugh about that one.
Does this look like a gun ![]()

PS: it ain’t for fun.
#5. Know your firearm very well and respect it
#6 Be discrete
#7 Leave arrogance at the door and remain responsible and humble
#8 Shoot holistically: using your mind (logical thinking, aiming with sites, concentration, observation), your heart (pure intention), your physical body (strength, stamina, posture, etc)
#9. Remember your ‘why’.
#10 (Because if there is a 9, there needs to be a 10)…Knowledge + skill + practice = safety and protection
#11. Buy the most expensive, badass gun you can. Bragging rights at the range are important too.
- Keep it secured
#12 Check the rear of the barrel and chamber at least twice and slowly
#13 Have a partner check it also
Please keep em coming. Great advice.
@Burdo
#14. Triple check everything. It’s ok to be OCD about gun safety.
I really like that. Someone I know had an accident. No 1 got hurt physically, but it drastically changed my ideas around handling. Making it my mission to teach. I never want anyone to ever experience an accident.
@Burdo
Glad you’re teaching safety…it is an on-going lesson. Now number 15… ?
