Just curious do you reload or are you buying off the shelf (online)?
I enjoy both. I really enjoy watching folks on my range and instructing the most. I had two former Army out this past weekend. They enjoyed shooting the 200yd and did some holster draw pistol.
Reloading, it’s very peaceful and therapeutic for me. Like I’ve said, don’t expect to carry on a conversation with me while I’m at the bench. I’ve screwed up pressing more times than not when I talk and press. I’ve got maybe 2500 brass left in 9 to fill then switching dies out for a few months of 223.
I have a Lee reloaded with dies for 38s,357s,380 and 9MM. When I found out how much ammo my wife and I used I decided to reload.
It’s absolutely awesome to pick up an old hobby again and bust some of the rust off. I will agree that 50 rounds may not be enough but at the same time, you don’t need to be shooting several hundred every time you shoot. I’ve found that instead of shooting a lot, less often it’s more beneficial to shoot more often with less. For example I will go to the range once a week and shoot somewhere from 75-125 rounds. This gives me a bite sized time for training that I can assess my progression and come up with ideas for dry fire practice during the week. Too often someone will go shoot for hours on end and be sick of it by the end of the day or merely frustrated that they’re not getting better. It all takes time and keeping yourself eager for more is what will keep your progression going.
Quality vs quantity…wise strategy sir. Welcome to the community!!
Depends.
You are either building good muscle memory or bad muscle memory.
Shoot enough and you may make mistakes.Keep shooting and keep making mistakes—not good, but a good reason to shoot with an instructor or knowledgeable person to set you straight before the damage is done
