CARRY SMARTER

3 Reasons People Stop Carrying Consistently

(and how to fix them)

Most people don’t stop carrying because they don’t believe in it.

They stop carrying because it becomes uncomfortable.

The holster digs into their side.
It prints through their shirt.
It shifts when they sit down.
Or they simply stop trusting it.

And eventually…
the gun stays home.

That’s the real problem.

Because carrying isn’t about convenience.
It’s about responsibility.

At Clinger Holsters, we believe carrying should feel natural. Comfortable. Secure. Reliable.

Here are 3 reasons most people stop carrying consistently — and how to fix them.

1 ## Their Holster Is Uncomfortable

If your holster constantly pinches, pokes, or rubs…
you’ll eventually stop wearing it.

Most people assume carrying is supposed to be uncomfortable.

It’s not.

Small adjustments to ride height, cant, and positioning can completely change your carry experience.

That’s why adjustability matters.

2 ## Printing Creates Anxiety

Nobody wants to constantly check their shirt or wonder if their firearm is showing.

Poor concealment creates stress.

The right holster should move with your body — not fight against it.

A properly fitted holster with the right angle and positioning can dramatically reduce printing without changing your entire wardrobe.

3 ## They Don’t Fully Trust Their Setup

Confidence matters.
Retention matters.
Security matters.

When you hear that solid “click” and know your firearm is secure, everything changes.

You stop thinking about the holster…
and start trusting it.

That confidence is the difference between owning a firearm and actually carrying consistently.

Carrying shouldn’t feel like a chore.

It should feel natural.

Comfortable enough to wear all day.
Secure enough to trust completely.
Concealed enough to forget it’s even there.

“Side profile showing minimal printing under a t-shirt with concealed carry”

What ever happened to truth in advertising. My god if that’s “minimal” what do they call open carry?

Slim fit shirt. Is it printing?

I can’t tell you are carrying a gun.

Looks good bean, now pull it tight from the back and ask again. The Pic in the ad was pulled tight. I know they were trying to make a point but if your struggling with your masculinity, you wouldn’t wear a shirt that tight and carry a gun

I don’t have a beer belly, not a big guy by anyone’s standards, and wear M. Large makes it look like I went to the Big & Tall section.

Look closer…

If you carry with suppressor you have to either change position or holster (Clinger preferably)

Oh I’m not skinny(just dropped 55lbs) but a shirt that tight will show stretch marks!

I carried for three years using a $19.99 Amazon unbranded kydex holster and never had issues with it. That started in year 4 of conceal carry when I already had confidence I won’t have a ND. Discomfort became more manageable.

“Carrying a gun is not meant to be comfortable,” he said. “If you’re OK with slight discomfort, carry a small gun. If you’re OK with a little more, you’ll carry a bigger gun. You also have to dress around the gun.”

Going smaller for concealability comes with trade-offs worth knowing up front.

I CC a full-frame .45. The right shirt makes a big difference.

Or carry a large caliber appendix, if someone stares, just say in a loud voice, yes, that is my steel-hard “gun.” More effective than saying for side-holstered that it is my colostomy bag that is sometimes stated here. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I once carried a compact RIA 1911 for a couple days. It convinced me if I really wanted to, I can carry a CZ 75B which is just a bit smaller than a full size 1911.

Tell them it’s your colostomy bag. Doubt there will be any questions.

Was not aware people have those in their crotch. My father-in-law certainly did not. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Those that don’t know likely don’t want to. Those that do know likely won’t say anything.

I don’t much mind if people can sort of see that there might be something under my shirt; I just don’t want it to obviously be recognizable as a gun.
