As a former cop, I was always amazed by the number of arrested persons I encountered that always blabbered and just had diarrhea of the mouth and brain. Just simply ID yourself, and then say, “Lawyer”. And then, this is the very important step, SHUT THE F UP, And wait for your lawyer. It is that simple.

TRUTH.

The USCCA say’s the same thing.

Call 911 FIRST (after you know you are safe)
Then call your USCCA Lawyer
Then say ‘I will co-operate fully
as soon as my Lawyer gets here’.
(until then the unsaid is STFU!)

Ditto. I had the same experience. I believe that people run off at the mouth because they believe that law enforcement is there to help prove their innocence. That’s not true. The job of law enforcement is to gather evidence of any criminal activity, not to prove that someone is innocent.
