I would love to see our federal gubment cut back a lot. I think it was GW Bush that wanted to get rid of some federal like energy but 9-11 happened I think it’s past time for our federal gubment to be reduced in size. Presidents from both parties have created agencies that have outlived their usefulness.

Could you please explain how one gets to “hence the people” from “defend the constitution”. Sure the constitution was written for the people, I don’t see how the constitution is the people.
Actually I don’t. I wouldn’t know what to google. Like you said the constitution was written for the people. All the people, including the people in the government. It doesn’t specify which people but people of USA. It is the constitution we uphold not the people. That is why there is no unity. Everyone thinks they are the people and everyone else isn’t.
The whole meaning of the oath changes. I am pointing out it is to protect the constitution and that saying the constitution is the people, When the constitution was written by the people for the people… It is deceptive when it is said the Constitution hence the people. Whether it is done purposely or not.
Maybe I am nitpicking, it seems like an important thing to nitpick about.
