The time for rising up early before morning arrives is coming upon us soon. This is the time to be out scouting your areas and getting a game plan. (pun intended) Time to dust off your trusty and hopefully not rusty rifle or shotgun and go shooting. You have to make sure everything is operating smoothly. I mean, how involved do you get when it comes to hunting?
I am going to be black powder hunting this year for deer and elk. Then comes duck season. I was even thinking about visiting other states and go hunting, any suggestions?
I like my summers, but do look forward to the changes, especially less humidity, and no mosquitos.
Odd thing I noticed:
One of the spots I like, recently changed their regulations in terms of which devices/tools and calibers can be used to hunt. For years - it had been the same, thus I was surprised, but very glad that I took the time to check before going out there again.
Like IL, stay away from the colony where the shot heard round the world was fired. The lord governor leading the state won’t let you in with your rifle.
Todd nailed it above. Black Powder. When we were hunting Utah years ago we never failed to draw out. Then they changed the rules that you could only put in for the draw ever three years. Talking rifle now. Don’t know about today, but 20 yrs ago we never failed to draw for Black power and we could put in every year and always drew out as a team draw. Bow, black power, no problem, high power rifle, restrictions upon restrictions. Black power kept the freezers full and hunted every year. I haven’t gone out for some years, but for those of you still getting out, keep the powder dry and good luck.
Am i mistaken, or we not allowed to have a handgun on us while hunting either? Bare hands hunting i guess? (More like “the right to bare arms” here)
