Why not carry a full size?

Yeah, appendix carry that G19 w/20 rd extended mag, a spare, and an RMR in your quick-dry trop weight fishing shorts and a Grunt Style t-shirt. Nobody will realize you’re carrying 4 lbs of gun, ammo, holster, accessories and you will barely notice it yourself.   Oh! Oh! Don’t forget that WML, IFAK, and a good knife!

What makes carrying a full size concealable at 3:00 for me (I’m not huge but I’m bigger than your average guy, 6ft with a bit of fluff) under a hoodie or loose T-Shirt (I have a bone to pick with how Ts are made to hug your body these days), is I can’t the pistol as far forward as I can. The rear sights printing is the bigger issue here but in a thick t it’s no problem.

Playing some with appendix, but I still prefer 3:00 at the moment.

This is a story that should end the caliber wars. Though a 9mm can’t do this.

I carry a full-frame .45 concealed in an OWB with a cover garment; long shirt in Winter, Hawaiian shirt in Summer. It passes the wife test; if she can’t tell unlikely anyone else will know. I prefer the way the .45 handles over my sub-compact 9; both PX4 Storm, so same manual of arms. The .45 is 10+1, the 9 is 13+1.

9mm doesn’t need to.

We all know .45 in the toe is 100,000,000 times more lethal than a 9 to the chest. It’s just science.

Over the years I got very comfortable carrying the 1911 and later full-size duty pistols (i.e. M9). I occasionally still carry a 1911 for fun, but I find myself less willing to trade comfort for nostalgia. Hats off to those of you who carry these big boy toys every day.

How I’m carrying decides which firearm(s) I carry.
IWB: Springfield XDs 4.0 9mm.
Pocket carry: Ruger LCP .380.
OWB or Shoulder holster (my favorite method): Glock 23 .40.
Ankle carry: S&W M&P Shield 9mm.

9mm inside of a .45

Yeah, I’ll keep short, fat, and the finger of God for my carry gun.

@45IPAC , I agree, I also carry a .45, the PX4, my favorite handgun so far. I believe it was you that stated the .45 ACP is God’s caliber. Who can argue with that? On another thread we determined that was what David used to defeat Goliath. The Bible stated it was a stone, but we know it was a 230 grain projectile, what else would have a one shot stop? :sunglasses:

Good Heavens. Am I witnessing the birth of a conspiracy theory about Moses and John Moses Browning being the same person.

I believe you are the first person to come to that conclusion. I do not know enough about either to compare the two.

I thought the bible only mentioned the second coming of Christ, not Moses… :sunglasses:

I believe we have gone off on a tangent here. :upside_down_face:

Personal preference. My priorities are, #1: is it reliable? #2: Is it comfortable for EDC? #3: How many rounds does it hold? In my simple mind, if I can’t get the job done with a couple 10-round magazines, will 13 or 17 really make a difference? Or do I need to train more?

Perhaps we have missed something or misunderstood the Words?

Anyway… my Family album shows these:

A 2021-02-08 09-05-50
Grandpa Moses, known as Moshe Rabbenu, circa 1300BC

A 2021-02-08 09-06-02
Grandpa Moses, known as JMB, circa 1900AD

As you can see evolution works… smart men have less hair these days… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The role of Moses was played by the President of the NRA. A simple coincidence?
