Where do your rights to live free and armed come from?

I think that you are mistaken - I say it does create an individual right to keep and bear arms, these are not collective rights, the Bill of Rights is that, individual rights, yes, to restrict the government, but they are certainly afforded to individuals.

Good intentions will get NO ONE into God’s Kingdom, no one is good, I cannot get in to the Kingdom by trying to have good intentions, or even a moral character, all have fallen short, you must state the entire quote and not cherry pick short Biblical sentences, anyone you based their enteral destination on good intentions or simply stating that Jesus was a teacher (mentor) will find themselves in hell forever. Not my words, but His. Yes, He wants to save the world, but the world does not want to be saved His way. There will be Billions of more people in hell than in Heaven, Jesus Himself stated this, that is that few find the narrow road. Pride kills.

Wouldn’t that be murdering Jews and Christians? To that I would have to say stay responsibly, armed, and situationally aware.

I hunt for most of my meat. We raise chickens for eggs. Had four of the eggs hatch. One was a hen the other three were roosters. Wife made some delicious cocoa Vaughn.

It a wide road. I think that was you.

What I meant is you are not going to get there with bad intentions. My relationship is with G-d nobody can tell me how to get to heaven. Only G-d Himself. I think He tells everybody differently or we would all be the same.

“It a wide road. I think that was you.”

There is only One Way.

Correct, as the rest of the sentence states, kill for just being Christians or Jews, thus murder.

I often ask myself    How bad can hell be … My in-laws won’t be there … Shortly after that I find myself thinking… Did someone put something in my water… What happened to reality   After my fall looking into the vastness of the night sky…
The numbers run through my head … Like it is quite possible that there are 1 billion planets… Like ours in just our galaxy… There are 2 trillion or more galaxies in the observable universe…
The idea when I look at MAN… The people, that I see on a daily basis. Somehow we are the pinnacle of all this, is just ridiculous to me…
A bunch of goat sacrificing primitives… Somehow are intelligent enough and have the wherewithal to figure out … The complexities of the universe… You guys are right that takes some real FAITH …

My opinion and my opinion only based on my current understanding of Scripture is that we have the right and obligation to disobey the government only when the government orders the people to do something explicitly contrary to God’s word. A New Testament example: the government tells the apostles not to preach, they preach anyway because they had a clear biblical command to preach. They had to obey God rather than men. But what did they then do? They submitted to the government and accepted the government’s imprisonment and death. They didn’t start a revolution, revolt, or riot. Paul appealed to Caesar knowing full well it would likely end in his martyrdom.

Seems to me Jesus did something similar-gave up his own personal rights and allowed a government to execute him for a crime he didn’t commit (Philippians 2).

He did that for me.

Let that sink in.

Now let’s talk about our “rights.”

I am not suggesting our forefathers were wrong or that the American revolution was wrong—by no means.

I also understand America is unique. Lincoln spoke of a government of the people for the people and by the people. The American citizen is the government. I haven’t worked out in my own mind exactly what all that means.

I might get myself ostracized on this forum and I’m open to correction, but from a biblical standpoint if the government said “turn them in,” I might (honestly haven’t worked it all out) have to comply. I do not have a clear biblical command to own a firearm.

I have dear missionary friends in foreign countries where firearm ownership is simply not possible. They are some of the best people I know. They gave up their right to bear arms (and a lot of other rights) when they went to the mission field. They did so trusting in the sovereign hand of a loving God to keep them (Psalm 121). Many a missionary throughout church history has set aside his own personal safety and that of his family to take the gospel to the world. I cannot condemn them for being wrong.

Guns are great. Self defense is a basic human right. But there are more important things than even those.

Hebrews 11:36-40 might be out of context for this discussion, but perhaps there’s an application?

Also, I’m reminded of this sermon which seems (at least in my mind) to connect. Some of my thoughts here are influenced by that sermon.

Respectfully,

…and now I just got myself kicked off of this forum…

I wasn’t sure if it was you that said that. It should say it’s a wide road. It must have been Jesus among us.

God and my will by his grace.

Dude, you gotta try a heck of a lot harder than that to get banished from this here happy family.

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares about more than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the existing of better men than himself. “John Stuart Mill”

The war for freedom will never really be won because the price of freedom is constant vigilance over ourselves and over our government. " Eleanor Roosevelt"

A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.

I know that you are lost. Your time is very limited indeed. Your destination is clear. You have made your choice and will pay a very deadly penalty with your soul. God’s Word will be fulfilled. All this can be found in His Word, which I would say you have not studied at all, nor prayed or asked, or knocked, or sought after with all your mind, strength and heart.

Therefore, as God’s Word also states, I find no more reason to engage you with the pearls of wisdom that God has given me, as you breathe your time is now. Once dead, your have sealed your own fate. Enough for me.

Paul did not in fact know that - he had plans to go to Spain. And see believers everywhere.

“They didn’t start a revolution, revolt, or riot.”

Of course they did, and it change the entire world!

Those missionaries - if in another country never had the right to bear arms in the first place, they outside the US.

No why would you get kicked off this forum? Only dimwitted fools would ask for that.

Being a Christian never implies that you give up the right to protect yourself, I will not. I am not an offensive operator anymore, but defensive.

Unless God Himself told me to turn in my firearms, they will remain in my possession. If the government wants my firearms, history shows what happens next, no I will not comply, because by that point that Godless government has already shown its true intentions. Christian also does not mean “Stupid”.

James 2:19 says, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder”
Psalm 91:11 says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways”.

Sorry , Not uneducated … Just able to see a bigger picture. Devoid of second hand ideals…

Hey, don’t tempt me.

An attempt at humor recognizing what I stated was gonna be unpopular if not downright antithetical to the entirety of the USCCA.

That’s what they think. This is (still) the u. S. of A., and everyone has a right to be wrong. Some exercise that right to the fullest. e.g. Those who think abolishing the 2A will get rid of make us give up our guns…

Your freedom and your rights are never given but always taken.

Ghengis Kahn was once asked if he thought the Great Wall would protect the Chinese from his armies. The answer was simple: " That depends on the Chinese and their willingness to defend it."

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty… suspect anyone who approaches this jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will protect it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force – you are ruined.” Patrick Henry

God may have given you your rights – but it’s up to you to keep them.
