Seems to happen every year. Some idiot has his first beer and mag dumps into the air. It’s either holes in roofs, broken car glass or this :backhand_index_pointing_up: .

What I’m seeing more often in my neck of the woods is people getting caught for target shooting in their backyard—within city limits. I was wondering if people just become more stupid but a more logical explanation is LE using drone technology. Previously, only “reported gunfire.”

Yup, A… friend of mine ‘use’ to plink in his rather large backyard (mostly @ dusk/night using his new NVG’s). THEN a report came out on the ‘Lack of real News’ that not only did the ‘Staties’ have DRONES now, but the APD (Albuquerque Poe-leece) and the County Mountie Sherriff’s dept had them also.

I…um…He stopped immediately. :laughing:

He spent a nice chunk of change on NVG’s, (2) Suppressors (one .22 one .556), built a Target background and here came the Drones----Nice----NO NEIGHBOR’S WERE HURT IN THIS PROCESS :rofl:

Cactus Junction deemed ‘Shot Spotter’ didn’t work, the DEFUNDING DID!
I don’t understand how we made it this far…

We have gun shot detectors around here. They can map pretty close to where the shot came from. They use them in Down Town SLC, you know, The Land Of Zion.

Same here, a few blocks southeast of my house.

We hear a shot or shots, I don’t say a word, then my wife says, “gunshot?”

Then, sirens.

Myth Busters years ago proved that shots fired straight into the air did not fall at a speed necessary to injure or kill. Rounds fired at arcs would still have potential lethality due to their still spinning and retaining speed, unlike those that were fired straight into the air, which would tumble - would still hurt, but not kill you. unlike firing an arrow into the air, as it is the vanes that makes an arrow spin.
