Maybe they could just tell us what they did with the money instead of this line of crap…
“The pace of scientific discoveries in the national interest will be slowed,” the lawsuit says. “Progress on a safe and effective nuclear deterrent, novel energy sources, and cures for debilitating and life-threatening illness will be obstructed. America’s rivals will celebrate, even as science and industry in the United States suffer.”
maybe the universities could use the interest on their billions of tax free endowments that they have to make up for what the government gives them that they piss away by paying administraters and woke teachers to much each year.
Fine. Publish and distribute a complete listing, with references/endnotes, of exactly what you’ve used taxpayer funds for that has been of benefit to humanity. Don’t forget the dollar amounts devoted to each “accomplishment.”
I agree with them being held accountable for every penny
Last week I got junk mail asking for monthly donations to fund cancer research. I started thinking about the game. If I donate $50 for cancer research, and a cure is found, will cancer victims benefit for free or at a reduced rate? Will pharmaceutical companies produce this miracle drug and sell it at a reduced rate?
No & No
By donating, all I would be doing would be to reduce R&D expenditures for the pharmaceutical company.
University research is the same. Some research, mostly surrounding military technologies, should be government funded, but commercial applications should come from industry funded R&D.
Same with donating blood, I’d be giving it to them for free and in the time of need they’d gladly sell it back to me.
Ever wonder why America leads the world in scientific progress? Where do you think that comes from? University research grants are a big part of that.
Ever wonder how much further advanced America would be if they weren’t spending our tax money on nonsense, transgender animal experiments for example?
I call that research without development. RWD vs R&D
