US deploys B-52 bombers over Caribbean in unprecedented show of force
The US military deployed at least two Air Force B-52 strategic bombers in the Caribbean as tensions between the US and Venezuela continue to rise.
The unprecedented flights flew over the Gulf of Mexico, passed through the Yucatán Channel, which separates Mexico and Cuba, and were eventually visible north of the Venezuelan coast.
The aircraft were said to have maintained a holding pattern for more than 60 minutes. Additional details about flights are scarce, but the bombers reportedly flew close to the archipelago islands of Gran Roque and La Orchila, which is the site of Venezuelan military installations located nearly 160 kilometers from the capital Caracas.

The event drew a mix of reactions from spectators: Venezuelan officials were alarmed, but analysts and other internet users were said to have been amused by the shape traced on the map.
The move is thought to be a message to Venezuelan Nicolás Maduro, who got a glimpse into the range of the US Southern Command in the region.
That idea, which has not been confirmed by the US, is emphasized by the sheer amount of weapons one of the B-52 aircraft can carry.
According to the US military, officials were conducting long-range deterrence training missions that are reportedly routinely conducted from the Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
This comes a day after the US destroyed a fifth vessel, resulting in the deaths of six, accused of transporting drugs in the Carribbean sea. US President Donald Trump has defended the use of deadly force as his administration continues its war on Venezuelan drug cartels.
The moves have been condemned by experts of international law who accused the US president of openly committing war crimes.

Both China and Russia have also shown opposition to the recent US policy, accusing the West of upsetting the balance in a region that ois usually distant from military conflicts.
Beijing described the operations against the civilian boats as “unilateral and excessive” (THT’S FROM The Country that runs people over with their Tanks!) and Moscow cast the attacks as gross violations of international law (Again THAT’S RICH! The same folk’s who took their ENTIRE ROYAL FAMILY out behind the Kremlin and shot them all multiple times in the head!
