Digital display vs. mechanical?
It’s already second decade of XXI Century… go with digital.
The big difference is how precise your readings have to be.
Additionally, digital one has limitations of max 12 lb measurement, however it shouldn’t be an issue those days.
I’d recommend Wheeler Pro Digital.
Accurate, then precise. If they’re just precise…you don’t want them.
eh, those English words and their precise definitions…
We can’t even get folks through there, they’re, and their! lol forget about cheap vs. inexpensive. Don’t get me started on “I could care less.”
Anyway…Maybe someone getting close to a decision could post some links? i’ve never used one of these devices. My (lack of) skills don’t warrant it.
I was trying not to lead the audience.
In the digital as well as mechanical arena Wheeler and Lyman are the most well known. However, there are other less known to me brands out there in the same price range that might be worth considering.
Here’s some links to the Wheeler:
And the Lyman:
Amazon.com : Lyman 7832248 Electronic Digital Trigger Pull Gauge,Multi : Sports & Outdoors
Edit: PewPewTactical prefers the Wheeler, M-Carbo prefers the Lyman
This is the nicest one I have found, but it is too cost prohibitive for me:
The Wheeler unit has been good enough for me for decades.
I am liking that the sensor is on the “shoe” on the Wheeler, but am I am going to have to get a manicure to use it properly?

Thanks. Cool stuff. Not a bad deal for $50. I’m way too cheap for the fancy one!
It goes without saying…
I had been fan of Wheeler since I started shooting and never regretted buying any of their tools.
Is Wheeler better than Lyman? I don’t know, but never had single problem with Wheeler tools.
I like Wheeler stuff but hate paying the Midway “brand markup”…… Soooooo, I figured out that anything sold as Wheeler Engineering is also sold by Amazon by the Chinese company that makes it for them at a discount. I’ve bought a bunch of “Wheeler” stuff like the sight tool (which by the way is EXCELLENT!!! on Amazon for usually about 20-30% less. Larry’s gets enough of my money already
Yep, you pointed me that direction in the past and I picked up the sight pusher for $59
This is the closest I’ve found to the Wheeler Trigger Pull on Amazon :
Best trigger pull gauge: Your trigger finger.
The actual pull in lbs. is of less consequence to me than a comfortable and predictable pull. A lighter pull on an uncomfortable trigger may prove to be less accurate than a heavier pull that is comfortable, ie. Shooting a smooth DA revolver. Guess what I’m saying is I’ve never owned one and probably never will.
