You all have heard of the Bill Drill. You have six rounds at 7 yards, and you shoot at the A section of an IDPA target as fast as possible from the draw. Well, this drill is basically the same except you have a three-inch target in the center and place all six rounds on the three-inch target. All rounds out of the three-inch target do not count. This is all timed may I remind you.
Just a reminder, you need to do this under three seconds.
Draw, fire six shots within 3 seconds at 7 yards into a 3 inch target.
My question is, were you using a 22 caliber pistol?
No needing to re-aquire target after recoil.
It is a drill to build speed and accuracy together. At first, work on accuracy then build your speed. This is good training for both, and it will improve your shooting skills. work on it and see the improvements.
Look at it this way, how fast can you put six rounds in a 3-inch target at 7 yards? Bring it into 3 yards and try then work your way to 7 yards. Then you work on your speed. Can you improve? Will this help you? Yes, it is hard but that is what a good drill is supposed to do, push you to improve your accuracy and speed. All your fundamentals will be required for this drill, and it was created to push you.
7 shots, 5 yards, 3" target, 9mm, at indoor range, so shot from low ready rather than drawing from holster. I don’t know how quick, but as quick as I could get back on target between shots.
