The what if’s

If a criminal is stealing from me or demanding that I give something to him It’s not prideful to say no, you can’t have that or no, you can’t take that. That, according to the law and the constitution , is an attack on me that is defendable. If someone is calling me names or challenging me physically I can walk away having lost nothing.

I think we are ignoring the “I” word here.
Intent, what is “His” intent,? Is it just free stuff? Is it free stuff and free sex? Is it dead bodies?
What is your intent? Keep my stuff? Keep my stuff and show “Him” he can’t take it? Make “Him” pay? With life or limb?
Stopping someone, with fear or force is just that, Stopping them. Chasing after them to “Get Back At Him” can be very dangerous.

The only time I’d chase a thief is to get my stuff back and I’d probably challenge them with less then lethal force to get it back. Honestly, the object would have to be crazy important to me for me to chase someone. I’m sure that the thief would be running because I challenged them in the first place. DROP IT AND GET THE “@&? OUT OF MY HOUSE!!! If I barricade and call the police they’d have more time to grab more stuff. Or in the case of a wallet they’d have to out run me. Not a tall task but I do have some gittyup. In the case of my vehicle, they’d have to remove me and take possession and I’d probably use lethal force. If I walked up on someone in the act I’d throw out some strong verbal warnings and that would probably be enough. If not, well, in my state a person stealing a car is a person risking their lives.
