Get off the X, get in the surely-bulletproof car, exfil. That part totally makes sense. Why lie right there on the X? Consider this, maybe the psycho or a conpsirator of his had also put an explosive device there…then Secret Service “holds him down on top of the bomb until it goes off”…what would you say to that? MMQB and all that.

Only my opinion, I think the first 3 shots were the gunman then the next 4 were return fire from the SS. The snipers then verified the gunman was down and that is when they moved him.
MMQB? Let me give a bit of background on me. I served in the U.S. Army for 24 years, 8 years in Comsec, and my first 16years in Signal corps and as an MP. I was an MP for 14 years and during that time worked numerous security details. I was also for 3 years the adjutant security officer in Kaiserslautern, Germany for Kleber, Daener, and Panzer Kaserne’s. I was in charge of implementing security protocols including but not limited to security details and logistics for 94th & 108th Air defense artillery. When I got to Ft. Hood Texas, I was head of security for my battalion which was HQHC 2nd Brigade 1st Cavalry Division. Later in 2000/2001 I was deployed among roughly 1200 or so troops to Afghanistan to teach security protocols and training to Afghani police. I pulled two tiers of duty in Afghanistan before returning stateside and transitioning into Comsec/military intelligence. After retiring in 2009 I worked as a personal bodyguard for 2 years before moving into corporate security where I retired in 2021. MMQB?

The first thing they should have done was confirm the suspected shooter was neutralized, the second thing they should have done was to confirm that there was no secondary or other shooter within the perimeter that could still effectively take Trump down before standing him up and exposing him to another threat. As far as bomb is concerned, good sense would tell anyone who had it that if there was a bomb onstage it would have been used to kill the president and a shooter would not be needed. You’ve been watching too many Hollywood movies, But I understand MMQB and all.
That is very possible. They still should have secured the area to make sure there were no secondary shooters that could still assassinate him. Thankfully there were none and if there was, they chose not to take a shot. It also seemed like a very short amount of time from the time the President ducked down to the time the pulled him up to confirm all that.
Did you watch the videos and com to a different observation than myself and @William191 where we observed “shooter down” happened before they moved Trump? By my recollection of the last time I watched it through and read through the supposed event timing and listened to the shots, my impression is the shooter was down before Trump was up

Imo there was not enough time to clearly confirm if the shooter was down. If they could get a clear shot on him seconds after Trump was shot, they could have gotten a clear shot before Trump was shot. Secondly, they didn’t secure the area making sure there were no secondary shooters. The public always assumes there is a lone shooter, but history tells us a different story.
