The love for 1911

DA/SA with a decoker and no safety is easier for those who a are not trained in the art of 1911- Grip safety and thumb safety from the draw.

But DA/SA to me is an expert level type of firearms because of the 1st DA pull. A lot of people have trouble with it if they don’t go out and really train.

I have Beretta it took me a while to get use to the DA/SA… i will say once you get to the SA on DA/SA it is close to a 1911 trigger especially if you have LTT Beretta.

I have 2 DA/SApistols, my WWII Walther P-38, and my FNX tactical.45.

Both those guns have long heavy DA pulls! You have to want that first shot! But after that the SA trigger is comparatively light.

I am guilty of dangerous mistake #1. The danger makes sense once the danger is explained. I’m going to work on that one.

Another mistake discussed is racking with support hand over the top of the slide and pointing muzzle at anything or person on your side. I consciously either rotate sideways or rack as shown in first photo at the range to be sure the muzzle stays pointed down range.

This was one of the first few things I remember from my initial CCW class.
