Heads of state and other foreign dignitaries visit frequently. It is the primary centerpiece of our seat of power. Why would the Fed need renovations, other than maintenence of the building?

The White House Correspondents dinner is not hosted by the White House and has never been, it will always be at a location that is not the White House Ballroom, the President is invited to the event, he is not required to come. And the reason so many are calling this last event as staged is because this is the first time Trump has attended in his capacity as President. There were 5 other dinners he refused to attend and the first time he shows up there is an attempt, then immediately says he needs his gay ass ballroom like the little fag queen that he is.
