So here’s one for you. Beer owner gets robbed. Goes outside with weapon ( naturally) to see if he can id vehicle. No dice. Goes to pizza place to warn him. Here’s the legal thing. Beer guy has firearm in hand, not holstered. Bg done robbing pizza guy, sees beer guy, sees handgun, so how does that pan out. Just wondering…

First out thank you for your service. I appreciate all you have done for this country.
I am not a redcatcher. But it’s nice to TX with you sir

It’s just a # computer assigned to me. I guess. I should change it. But I just came across this site as I was looking at the new Barrett 50cal M107A. Oh she’s pretty.

Yup and them all. Save the FREE 3/hots/cots. And spend that money on helping cure things like diabetes, cancer,ETC. ETC.ETC. Save the court costs incl the cost of security in courts. The transportation to and from jail. The cost of jails. Spend it on responsible Americans who try to improve this great country. Not the ones who are a BURDEN…

I have a different take… dont mean to derail the thread…

An armed society is a polite society… Heinlein
Nullify gun laws nationally per the Constitution. Dictates concerning firearms should be National so there is no confusion.
In this case, the robbery likely never would have happened. The robber although a derelict to begin with, would not have felt protected by laws and also assumed everybody around him was armed so it possibly if not likely would have been a non-event.

Here are some questions I’ve continued to ask myself if I’m ever in this scenario:

  1. Is there any guarantee that the bad guy won’t return to commit the same crime to me or my family?
  2. Can anyone guarantee that the bad guy won’t commit the same crime to other businesses ?
  3. Is there any guarantee that the bad guy won’t harm another person or child later?
So, should I shoot to kill or shoot to lame the bad guy so that he could be released back into society to commit more crimes?

I have too agree with the review about the illegality of the pizza store owner pursuing the perpetrator. If a suspect leaves the scene of a crime. The threat to one’s own life is basically over right then and there. Unless the same perpetrator returns to the scene to inflict further harm to others? Then maybe? Hopefully by then the law enforcement officers have arrived to the scene. I think there’s too many times when the would be victim can allow their own personal egos to get in the way, by reacting in a counter productive way getting them in more legal trouble than they first anticipated. This is why I believe tactical training courses are so important for the new gun owners! And for those of us that have been in the self defense community for years? Ain’t no such thing as an old dawg that cannot learn a new set of tricks! We too, must keep on training as much as possible and as often as we possibly can. Even if it’s just watching the same dvd training videos! It’s far better than not doing anything at all! I just wish thatthere was more time in the day too watch more of the updated tactical training videos or going out to a local range for practicing the skills we need too stay sharp? I’m physically disabled, and wheelchair bound female, and I have to schedule a time for dry fire practice every week and getting out to a local range for me is not very easy. So laser targeting devices for both handguns and long guns are my only true option. Since the loss of my ability to walk a few years ago I had to figure out how to develop my own personal self defense practice drill routines and that of potential home defense scenarios. Always keeping in mind that having too live in an apartment complex, that knowing exactly where to position myself in the event I have to take up the dreadful last resort of lethal force and not accidentally shooting one of my neighbors through the doors or a wall within the house. I set up a potential safe room for this type of scenario that will help me if I were to ever have to resort to lethal force. Like I said. The fight we win. Is the fight we’re never in. Know who your neighbors are too! Situational awareness is half the battle. Know who is coming in and out of any apartment complex that we might live in certainly helps to deter any illegal activities. Join a local Neighborhood Crime Watch Patrol Team too. Invest in a Ring Doorbell security camera can help deter outsiders from engaging in illegal activity within the perimeters of an apartment complex too. Even if you’re single and you live in an apartment . There’s a way to maximize your security level. My hope and prayers is that I will never be in that position—ever! But if that day should come? I’ll be as ready as I can be.

The fight you win is the fight that you’re never in the first place.

That goes directly against the Constitution. The 10th Amendment reserves the rights not delegated to the federal government to the states or the people.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

If any government is going to act with respect to firearms, it should be limited to the states.

From the article “ *Turning, he saw the owner of the beer store he just robbed. Mussa raised his gun. The beer store owner shot first“ Mussa is the BG.
Mussa made a choice.

Obligatory I’m not a lawyer and local laws vary.
I was under the impression that you are able to legally pursue a robber as long as it’s immediately after the crime was committed. I’m not arguing if you should or not just the legality of it. It sounds like Mussa robbed the beer story then went next door to rob the pizza joint. Since he was in the same vicinity would it be considered one event? If it’s true the beer store owner owns the whole shopping center would that play into it as well? I know if Mussa went home and the beer store owner tracked him down and shot him that would be illegal.

I would ask, are you suggesting revenge and ignore the rule of law?

Eye for an eye sir. Putting these criminals in jail feeding them letting them have cable TV and around all day and play cards let me ask you if one of your family members got hurt would this be okay with you if somebody you knew was a victim of a vicious crime would you be okay putting that guy in jail and feeding him for the next 10 years letting them hang out all day while we go out and work our butt off I’m pretty sure you would say no but sometimes those in the Ivory Towers don’t see what’s really going on in this world

I’m not saying let’s get rid of the Constitution and and just go out and revenge hurt people and all kinds of weird thing I am just saying why can’t we allow the families of the victims to get what should be rightfully theirs you want to call it Revenge do you want to call it a hate crime you want to call it whatever it doesn’t matter to me I think it’s only fair and then for those who feel that The Law fixes everything for everybody they can have them after the family’s done.i am curious though. Let’s say on a note. Biden’s boys come kick in YOUR door and God forbid hurt your family, demanding your guns. Demanding you to give up your rights. What will your reply be. I think a lot of people want to know.
